Why work in care? 🤝

💜 Help make a difference everyday 💜

Being a carer means no two days are the same. Every day brings new opportunities, from helping with daily routines to providing companionship and emotional support.

What are some advantages of being a carer?

✨ You can make a difference – you will make life better for the people you care for.

🕰️ Flexible working hours – a variety of different working hours and rotas means you can find shifts that fit in with your schedule.

✅ Gain qualifications – although qualifications are not necessary to work in care, many employers offer the opportunity to earn recognised qualifications that can increase your job prospects.

October marks National Cholesterol Month! Lets talk about the silent risk…

❌Myth: “I feel fine so my cholesterol must be fine”
✅Fact: High Cholesterol can show no symptoms at all – but can lead to heart attacks or strokes.

There is no better time to get you cholesterol checked. Have you had your cholesterol tested and checked in the last 5 years?

Three things you can do today…

🗓️ Schedule a cholesterol screening
🍔Swap processed snacks for nuts or fruit – its important to cut back on trans fats and ultra processed foods. What are some examples of ultra processed foods? – click the following link to find out https://ow.ly/jv1k50X9Tww
🥬Add fibre – oats, beans and veggies are cholesterols worst enemy!
