Drawing and Talking for Mums/carers ✏️🗣

Being a mum/carer can bring up so many emotions - from the overwhelm of early motherhood, to processing traumatic births, to navigating family life, loss and everything in between.

•Maybe you're feeling low or are struggling with postnatal depression.
•Maybe you’re parenting while living with an illness yourself, physically or emotionally.
•Maybe you have a child who lives with a medical condition or disability.
• Maybe you’re struggling with the adjustment to becoming a parent.
•Maybe you’re single parenting.
•Maybe you’re simply carrying more than feels manageable right now.
•Maybe you're figuring out blended family life.
•Maybe you're a carer.
And the list goes on........

My Drawing and Talking Groupwork sessions will be specifically for mums/carers, they are all about creating a gentle, supportive space to help you process emotions in a safe and nurturing way.

I generally work with children and young people on a 1-1 basis, but I know how powerful this approach can be in supporting adults too, which is why I’m really keen to offer this space just for you.

💛 What is Drawing and Talking?
It’s an AMAZING therapeutic approach that supports emotional expression through simple drawing - using only a leaded pencil and white A4 paper. There’s no pressure, no expectation, and no need to talk unless you want to.

What to expect:
5 weeks - 1 hour sessions (possibly a little longer)
A safe, confidential space
Judgement-free, supportive environment
Small group sessions
Space to explore your emotions linked to birth, babies, children, health challenges, personal experiences, and family life.

Absolutely NO artistic ability needed - stick figures are very welcome

This would be a calm, nurturing space just for you 💕

If this sounds like something you’d benefit from, please drop me a message

You don’t have to do this alone 💛

After checking in with a parent following their child’s very first Drawing and Talking session, I received this lovely feedback 💛

It’s always so important to me to make sure both children and parents feel supported from the very beginning - creating a safe, gentle space where children can start to explore their thoughts and feelings, even from session one.

The first session is all about building trust, creating safety, and gently introducing the process. When a child feels comfortable enough to engage and a parent notices that reassurance afterwards, it’s such a meaningful start.

Drawing and Talking isn’t about artistic skill, it’s about providing a safe, structured space to process big feelings at their own pace.

If you’d like to know more about how Drawing and Talking Therapy could support you or your child, please feel free to drop me a message 🌿

Drawing and Talking is like planting a seed.

When we plant a seed, we don’t expect it to grow overnight. We prepare the soil, we water it, we give it light, and we trust the process.

Drawing and Talking works in much the same way.

•Each session offers a safe, consistent space - the soil.
•The paper and pencils are the tools - the water and light.
•I provides calm presence and containment - the steady gardener.

The child (or adult) plants their experiences, thoughts, and feelings onto the page. Over time, with nurture and repetition, those drawings begin to shift.
What felt overwhelming becomes manageable. What was tangled becomes understood. Confidence and emotional resilience begin to grow.

We cannot rush it.
We cannot force it.

But with patience and trust, growth happens.
And often, the most powerful changes are the quiet ones beneath the surface 🌿✏️🗣

Parent Feedback 🦋 Drawing and Talking.

I’m always so grateful when parents take the time to share their feedback from their child’s sessions with me. Achieving these positive changes through Drawing and Talking Therapy is truly why I do what I do 💛

This gentle, child/person-led therapeutic approach can help anyone who may be:
• Feeling anxious or overwhelmed
• Struggling with big emotions
• Processing change or loss
• Finding it hard to express themselves
• Experiencing relationship, friendship, work or school difficulties
and so much more....

Drawing and Talking Therapy provides a safe, consistent space where children and adults can explore their thoughts and feelings through drawing, with my support.

If you’d like further information about how Drawing and Talking Therapy can help you or someone you know, please drop me a message - I’d be more than happy to chat and answer any questions ✏️🗣

✨️ Happy New Year ✨

The Year of the Horse reminds us of resilience, of determination, and the importance of moving forward at our own pace.

These values sit at the very heart of Drawing and Talking, offering a safe space to process, heal, and grow, step by step, in a way that feels right for each individual.

Wishing you health, happiness, and hope for the year ahead 🐎 🤍

“With a pencil and paper to hand, a child’s basic instinct is to draw, and by talking through this with an empathetic and caring adult, a child is able to process and make sense of the painful memories that may be effecting their behaviour, and in turn their learning.”
