As some may know, I have recently announced the news of my pregnancy🥰

I hope to continue working until November time. However this may be subject to change so please keep your eyes posted for updates on the page.

🐴If you would like to book your horse in before I come off please don’t hesitate to contact me and we can get dates arranged. I have limited spaces due to decreasing workloads so spaces are filling up fast!🐴

Thank you’s all so much for your continued support. Look forward to hearing from you❤️

Often or not, we are still seeing young horses doing more than they should in regard to their musco-skeletal development.

✨We should be giving our horses the best chance right from the beginning✨

Rushing the horse’s body is to steal soundness from their future.

We’ve seen the cycle as practitioners- young horses started early, in consistent work and showing. Then comes the soundness issues, the injuries, the rides where they “aren’t feeling quite right”.

It’s easy to get stuck in a cycle of chasing your tail and band aid solutions.

When we don’t have a strong, mature musculoskeletal system and a comprehensive mind body connection that allows the horse to truly understand how to move correctly- the outcome is a pattern of dysfunction and injury.

It’s important as the owner/rider/trainer etc. to understand how our horse’s bodies and minds mature so that we can set them up for success.

Keys to success:
👉Letting the body mature
👉Building functional muscle
👉Training functional movement
👉Keeping the job within the horse’s realm of capability
👉Identifying lameness indicators early

A lot of my clients have heard me go on and on about the thoracic sling. I have found it’s one of the areas that isn’t talked about enough despite its importance.

Here is a good diagram and example of why having a strong thoracic sling is so important in all work we do with our horses.

🐴 Stronger, happier horse = happy owners🐴

Meet Bob.

The first photo was taken back in November when I had not long started to look after him while his mum was on ‘maternity leave’.
The second photo was taken a few weeks ago😍

I have only been riding one day a week during the last 6 months, with each session lasting between 15 minutes, and slowly building up to an hour.
No intense schooling or workload, just good old fashioned hacking, with the occasional simple schooling session.

What is most important here, is posture and targeted exercise. Bob is no young pup, at the age of 18, and had always been used to throwing his head up and going fast 🐎
What I have focused on, is slowing it all down and asking him to come long and low in a relaxed frame.

These are the main exercises I advise my clients to do, as not only are they the most simple, but they are the most effective in building the correct muscles to help support the body’s natural frame.

The moral of the story is, even if you only have one day to ride or exercise your horse, just remember it’s not how much you can do, it’s what you do and how you do it.

Be like Bob🐴

When the hay is good but the massage is even better😂

I love seeing positive reactions while massaging🥰

Not only do maintenance massages promote relaxation. By stimulating the muscles and surrounding fascia, we increase the blood flow which in turn delivers nutrients and oxygen to that area. It also encourages the body to release its natural pain relief.
All of which can help speed up the recovery process💪

Sunday 29th - AM space
Wednesday 2nd Oct - AM spaces
Saturday 5th - PM spaces
