Hypnosis is safe and can work as both a stand-alone or a complementary treatment with other therapies.

Fears and phobia's are some of my favourite issues to help you kick to the curb - be it a common concern, like the client who used to run away from spiders who can now catch and release them calmly, or something less common, like the client who was frightened of fruit and veg who was able to happily munch on carrots at the end of our session πŸ₯•

I've got a very open mind and have heard it all by now, so if you have a fear or phobia holding you back, I can help!

I saw an interesting sign outside a local dentists this morning - "Nervous about seeing a dentist? We offer sedation". That is certainly one option, but removing those nerves is a better way to go! If you want to know how I can help you do that, get in touch. 😁

Happy international men's day! I'm very lucky to have some wonderful men in my life, who embody love, generosity, and care. Wishing all the guys out there a good day today x

There is a lot going on in the world, and it's really easy to become overwhelmed.

A really quick and easy way to deal with overwhelm is to write down everything that is bothering you on sticky notes - one thing per note.🟨

You might find that some of those things don't feel as important once they are out of your head. Toss them in the bin. πŸ—‘

Make a tiny ball out of any issue over which you have no influence or control. Throw those into the bin too. Bonus points if you throw them from a distance! πŸ€

Seeing each remaining issue individually will allow you to concentrate on one problem at a time, and come up with a practical next step you can take to ease it. Even small steps work to move the problem forward, and give us the comfort that comes from taking action.

That overwhelm will soon subside

Time for some self care! I love gong baths, they definitely help me to relax... I'm often the one who falls fast asleep after the first 5 minutes! Have you ever tried one? X

Hello lovely!

The benefit of getting older is having made mistakes and (hopefully!) learnt from them. Here are a few things I wish I had known 20 years ago:

1. Your 20s and 30s disappear quicker than you'd imagine, but don't worry too much about that - mentally, you'll feel about 23 forever.

2. If you've got a view of where you'd like to be in 10 years' time, start the journey now. Things don't happen by magic, and you need a plan of action.

3. The things you worry about probably won't happen. The things that hurt you will likely be a surprise. Find tools to help you stop worrying as it's a complete waste of your precious time.

4. You never know how long you have with someone. Make the most of it.

5. The people who hurt you rarely cast themselves as the villain in their own story. Holding on to anger, expecting them to suffer, will never help. Let it go, for your own sake.

What would you add to my list?

Love

Hello lovelies

I've been investing more time in my self care recently and have been reminded of the importance of building our resilience, especially when things are good, to help avoid ill health when life gets hard.

In a stressful, fast-changing world, boosting resilience could help prevent issues like depression and anxiety from developing, whilst boosting self-confidence and positivity.

Dr Karen Reivich outlined 7 'learnable' skills that help build resilience:

1. Emotional awareness or regulation - the ability to identify and control your feelings

2. Impulse control - the ability to tolerate ambiguity, and sit back and think before making a decision

3. Realistic optimism - being able to realistically explore problems in an optimistic manner

4. Causal analysis - the ability to look at problems from many perspectives and consider many factors

5. Empathy - the ability to read and understand the emotions of others, to facilitate relationship building and social support

6. Self-efficacy - understanding your strengths and weaknesses and having confidence in your ability to solve problems

7. Reaching out - being prepared to take appropriate risks, and accept that failure is a necessary part of life.

Are you as resilient as you need to be, or do you need to practice some of the skills above?

Love

Laura x
