I went out on Saturday night and was trying different outfits - I then got some feeback that I look like I'm on steroids (the word hench) was used....

This made feel really self conscious and I began thinking about whether I should reduce my upper body workouts a bit 🤔

Then this morning I listened to a great podcast on longevity on the and it reminded me of the reasons I workout! It's to keep me strong so I protect my bones from breaking, to keep me mobile so I can run after my grandchildren, to keep me running and with a strong family history of dementia, to keep my brain functioning, so thank you I needed that reminder this morning 💪 not skinny

Are you struggling to get motivated to get out and exercise at this time of year ..... having listened to my 'stronger women community' I hear what they are saying.... motivation and time are a real barrier as we head into winter.

Having a challenge or a coach helps to keep you accountable and I know that helps me, def as the sun disappears!

I'm looking to create a healthy habits challenge to help us prepare for Christmas and the new year! I'll also be opening up my 1:1 coaching program to 5 more people, these went fast last time so keep your eyes peeled 👀

A couple of days away to reset and take a bit of a break from work ..... time to just breathe and reconnect with nature ...

A couple of days away to reset and take a bit of a break from work ..... time to just breathe and reconnect with nature and have some quiet time. Just Harry and some sheep (plus a catch up with Bruce) ... long walks, yummy food and a cosy cabin.

I know I'm very lucky to be able to take this time out but it also made me realise how even 5 mins a day can help you lower the stress hormones and reconnect with the little things in life that make you feel grateful.

I try to find a nice balance with my exercise and as we head into winter my lake swimming becomes less about distance and time but more the therapeutic benefits of the cold water .... I've learnt how to push myself out of my comfort zone and I'm now back out of the wetsuit and into my swimming cozzee as I focus on the feeling of the water and the effect it has on calming my mind ... it is also nice to be able to have a little chat with the ducks!

The community Bray Lake Watersports is just lovely and you feel supported in whatever feels right for you
