Stanwell Road Surgery There has been a doctor’s surgery at 95 Stanwell Road since the 1950s, and many of our patients have been registered with us for more than 30 years.

In light of the national increase in Covid-19 cases, we ask all our patients to wear masks when attending an appointment. We aim to help and support the NHS by ensuring all staff and patients are safe.

Please do not attend the practice if you test positive for Covid-19 or have any symptoms such as cough or temperature.

After reviewing our patient's feedback we have agreed to remove the online triaging system.

As of Monday 4th July patients will need to call the surgery at 8am to request an on the day emergency appointment. Any routine appointments please call the surgery from 11 for these to be booked.

To support this new transition our practice will go live with a new phone system from 8th July. The new system will allow patients to choose from several different options of what they require, can receive sms links, cancel appointments, test results and more! This will provide our patients more flexibility and much shorter waiting times.

Please bear with us while we are implementing this new system and training of the staff over the following weeks.

All administrative requests will still be able to be submitted on the appropriate forms on our website.

***NEW PHONE SYSTEM IS COMING****

The practice will go live with a new phone system in a few weeks time. The new system will allow the patient record to automatically load on our computer system when your call is answered.

To assist with the smooth transition we are kindly asking for all patients to ensure their contact number is up to date. Please use the online form titled Change of details so we can update our records.

Changes are coming!

As of 4th July we will be taking on the day appointments by calling the surgery at 8am. The online forms will ceaso to operate, however you will still be able to request prescriptions online and any other administrative enquiries.

Part of this new process will now offer you the choice of a telephone consultation or face to face with a GP (subject to availability).

Pre bookable appointments can be made up to 12 weeks in advance for the GP and our practice nurses.

We would like to take this opportunity to kindly ask for your cooperation during the transition to our new system.

***PRACTICE CLOSURE***

The practice will be closed from 12:30 on Thursday 24th March to carry out staff training so that we can continue to offer high levels of care. If you have an urgent medical problem please visit NHS 111 online or call 111, as we have arranged for GPs to be available to support our patients.
You can also speak to your local pharmacist, or view self-help information and links to other services in our Treatment Room and Wellbeing Centre on our website

Stanwell Road Surgery are currently undertaking training of new receptionists. This means that phonecalls may take longer to be answered as we aide and assist the new staff. Please be patient with us whilst we are undertaking this training and would advise to use the online forms as much as possible. Thank you for co--operation

Helen Horsley: Retirement

I would like to say a fond farewell to all those patients i have had the pleasure of meeting and caring for whilst working at Stanwell Road Surgery as a Practice Nurse/Nurse Practitioner. I have spent 26 happy years at the surgery and have had an interesting, varied and fulfilling career. It is now time to take my retirement of which i am very much looking forward to and beginning a new chapter in my life. We intend to stay in Ashford so i am sure i will continue to see a great many of you in the local area.

I wish you all a happy and healthy 2022!
