💐 A Day in the Life of a Funeral Director – Jo Denton
Every day at Hadaway & Denton begins with compassion. Much of Jo’s day is spent listening — taking time to understand each family’s wishes and gently guiding them through the choices ahead. She arranges appointments, completes paperwork, and helps plan the details that make every service personal — from flowers and music to readings and transport.

Between calls and meetings, Jo coordinates with florists, celebrants, and venues to make sure every detail is confirmed. She often checks in with families, ensuring they feel supported and confident about the plans in place.

By the afternoon, Jo is reviewing service orders, preparing for upcoming funerals, and making sure everything is ready for the days ahead.

As an independent funeral director, we take great pride in supporting families throughout Ashford and Kent. Being trusted to help at such an important time is something we never take for granted.

Behind the Scenes: The Day Of The Funeral
The morning of a funeral begins early for Carl and the team at Hadaway & Denton.

Vehicles are brought out, given a final polish, and nameplates are fitted with care. The team doublechecks every detail — flowers, service sheets, music, and timings — to make sure everything is exactly as planned.

Before setting off, there’s always a quiet moment of reflection. Every member of the team knows the importance of the day ahead and the trust placed in us by the family.

When we arrive, we greet the family, help them into the limousines, and make sure they feel supported and at ease. Throughout the journey and service, we work discreetly — guiding, assisting, and making sure everything runs smoothly and respectfully from beginning to end.

It’s not just a job. It’s a privilege to help families through one of life’s most important days, ensuring their loved one is given the farewell they deserve.
