Dr Zacharias Tsiamoulos is one of our speakers for the upcoming East Kent Surgical Conference.

Dr Zacharias Tsiamoulos is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and GI Endoscopy Specialist. His qualifications include an MBBS from Semmelweis Medical School, Budapest, a PhD in Basic Science from the University of Athens, and an MD (Res) from Imperial College. Holding a JAG Colonoscopist accreditation and a Home Office license, he is affiliated with esteemed international gastroenterology societies.

In his current role at East Kent University Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust, Dr. Tsiamoulos serves as the Lead for the Complex Polyp Service and was the Clinical Endoscopy Lead Trust-wide. His career journey spans from Gastroenterology residency in Athens to roles as a Senior Therapeutic Endoscopy Fellow and Clinical Endoscopy Research Fellow at St Mark’s Hospital. Notable achievements include completing randomized trials, earning a PhD, and contributing to endoscopic technique evolution.

Dr. Tsiamoulos's impact extends to presenting research globally, actively participating in gastroenterology guideline development, and leading Endoscopy Departments at three hospital sites. His commitment to advancing the field is evident in collaborations, a fellowship in Tokyo, and introducing innovative approaches for colore**al polyps. A leader in national courses and a recipient of an ERCP training fellowship, Dr. Tsiamoulos exemplifies excellence in clinical practice, research, and leadership in gastroenterology.

Introducing our next speaker for the upcoming surgical conference - Mr Santosh Bhandari.

Mr Bhandari is a Consultant Colore**al Surgeon at Peterborough City Hospital. He completed his Basic Surgical Training in Kent and Higher Surgical Training in East Midlands, rotating through University Hospitals of Leicester and affiliated hospitals, specialising in Laparoscopic General and Colore**al Surgery. His areas of expertise include laparoscopic surgery for colon and re**al cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, laparoscopic hernia repair, laparoscopic gall bladder surgery and surgery for minor colore**al conditions.

He undertook research into desmoid tumour in Familial Adenomatous Polyposis in St Mark’s Hospital from 2010 to 2012, attaining an MD for his work from Imperial College London. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2018 and was appointed as a substantive Consultant General and Colore**al Surgeon in Peterborough City Hospital in November 2019.

He is a keen teacher. Mr Bhandari actively oversees trainees at differing stages of their surgical career and instructs on a number of national courses for trainee surgeons.
