🌷 Root & Rise

A Spring Yoga Workshop Sunday 8th March There’s a moment every year when something shifts. The light changes. The air softens. And somewhere inside, we begin to feel ready. Ready to move a little more.Ready to clear out what feels heavy.Ready to welcome longer, brighter days. This workshop is a s**ce to honour that shift — gently, steadily, in your own way....

Shake off winter heaviness

This morning, something quite wonderful happened. It wasn’t raining. The sun was actually shining — so I went straight into the garden. I pulled a few weeds, did a little pruning, tidied here and there. Nothing dramatic. Just small, steady jobs. And yet… it felt completely different. Touching the earth again. Preparing the s**ce. Noticing tiny signs of growth. It left me feeling surprisingly energised — as if something in me had also shifted from winter into spring....

Many of the women who join Treelight Yoga tell me the same thing:
“I didn’t think I could do yoga…”
“I thought I was too stiff…”
“I didn’t feel confident enough…”

And yet, they discover that gentle, supportive yoga can actually feel:
• nourishing
• calming
• achievable
• empowering

This month’s Lagom theme embraces the idea that you don’t need to strive or be perfect. You are allowed to meet yourself exactly where you are.
And that alone is deeply healing.

Inside the Treelight Yoga membership, you won’t find intense workouts, pressure, or expectations to “keep up”.

Instead, you’ll be guided through:
🌿 Gentle, beginner-friendly yoga
🌿 Simple, calming breathwork for stress relief
🌿 Time to slow down and reconnect with yourself
🌿 A safe, supportive and non-judgemental s**ce

This month’s theme of Lagom is all about listening to your body and honouring your energy — especially in this busy, emotional time of year.

If you’ve ever worried that yoga might be “too much” for you, this is your gentle reassurance:
You don’t have to be flexible.
You don’t have to be fit.
You just need to be willing to show up for yourself.

December can be a beautiful time… but for many women it can also feel like:

• too much to organise
• too many people to please
• too many emotions to carry
• too many expectations
• too little time for yourself

If you’ve ever found yourself thinking
“I’ll rest properly after Christmas”
…you’re not alone.

But what if, this year, you didn’t have to wait?

The Swedish concept of Lagom – not too much, not too little… just the right amount – offers a gentler, kinder alternative to the usual December overload.

And you deserve that softness too. If you want to give this a try, head over to: https://treelightyoga.com/radiant-wellbeing-membership/

As the days get shorter, darker – and rainier – I’ve been doing a lot more of one of my favourite things: reading 📚

One book that really stayed with me is The Scandinavian Guide to Happiness.

Interestingly, even with long, dark winters and very little sunlight for months, Scandinavian countries regularly rank among the happiest in the world.

One of the lifestyle concepts they live by is Lagom — meaning:
Not too much. Not too little. Just the right amount.

That feeling of balance… of “enoughness”… is what so many of the women I work with are quietly craving.

And it’s exactly what we’ll be exploring inside my Treelight Yoga membership this December 🩷

One way for you to start exploring this:

- Pause what you are doing.
- Take a couple of breath, maybe place your hands on your heart or close your eyes if it is safe to do so.
- Ask yourself: how I am feeling right now? Ok, tired, stressed...? What can I do right now to help myself for a little bit better? Stretch, have a 1 mini meditation, watch a funny video on my phone...?

Here’s your tiny practice to help you pause today:

✨ Grounding

As the days get colder and shorter, we spend less time outside. Yet grounding is so important to help us feel calm and help us deal with the busyness of live.

Today's practice is to reconnect with this sense of grounding, even if you don't go out quite as much as you'd like.

Sit or stand with both feet on the floor.

Relax your belly, rest your hands on your legs, and imagine your exhale flowing gently down through your feet.

Even 30 seconds can help you feel more centred.

If grounding practices are something you’ve been craving, I teach a lot of these in my membership in simple and accessible ways— at home, and in your own time.

💛 Send me a message if you’d like a peek inside.

If you fancy some peace and quiet before some more Christmas shopping, this is the s**ce for you.

Here’s your tiny practice to help you pause today:

✨ The cup of calm

Make yourself a warm drink and take the first three sips slowly.
Feel the warmth in your hands, soften your jaw, and let your breath lengthen naturally.

Just a moment of steadiness in the middle of the day.

If you’d love more small, soothing practices like this — the kind that help you reconnect with yourself — my monthly membership might be a lovely gift to yourself.

💛 Comment “calm” and I’ll send you the details.

Our Story

Nothing predisposed me to become a yoga teacher: I wasn’t flexible as a child, broke my left elbow falling from a beam in PE (that’s showing you how good my balance was) and disliked pretty much all kind of physical activities, apart from dancing. As for the calm aura that yoga teachers seem to project, I had struggled with anxiety on and off since I was a teenager...

It is anxiety that got me to discover yoga. As I was suffering from post-natal depression after my first daughter was born, my GP suggested that I start doing some yoga. After my very first post-natal yoga class, I remember feeling uplifted and amazed that for 90 minutes, my worries had left me in peace. A little voice at the back of my head murmured that it would be great to be a yoga teacher and to be able to make people feel good about themselves.

Not being much of a risk taker, it took 7 years and a few major life changes before I decided to start my yoga teacher training. From the very first day of my training, I felt like I had come home. I was finally learning how to help other people the same way that my lovely yoga teacher had helped me.

Treelight Yoga was born in 2016 when I started teaching private and group classes. Since then, I have been working with wonderful people who have been coming to me for various things such as aches and pains, stress, anxiety, lack of flexibility or simply wanting a chance to relax.
