Posture versus Conformation
These photos follow a pony that I treated in January 2018 and again in December 2018. This pony was rising 11 last January, (riding 12 now) and is used for low level pony club activities. Unlike humans horses do not have a curve in their lower back but occasionally we see there is a slight conformational fault and they do display this curve (called a Lumber lordosis). Whilst we cannot change the conformation, with Chiropractic you can hugely improve the posture and therefore improve the function of the horse/ pony’s spine. The first photo was taken before the first Chiropractic treatment in Jan 2018. The second photo was taken immediately after the first treatment. The third photo is immediately after the second treatment 11 months later. This is what we see all the time with chiropractic, you get and immediate improvement, which can be seen in the posture and felt when next ridden, but importantly they continue to improve over time as they move more correctly and then are able to use and build the correct muscles. The last two photos are close ups before first treatment and immediately after second treatment. I’m really happy with this pony’s progress, he and his young rider continue great fun at pony club doing all kinds of activities.
