Salad Saturday.

Help me with an argument - well slight disagreement!

When I grew up in the 80s there were 2 types of salad - a plate salad or the posher/newer version the toss salad. Play salad is pictured - toss salad was everything tossed ๐Ÿ˜‚ - did anyone else have this?

โ€ฆfor extra question, when plating up does everyone have particular family places? And they must never stray!!! Or is that just me to? ๐Ÿ˜‚

This week marks 2 years since I became CEO of Full Circle Food Project ๐Ÿ’š

When I started, the organisation was going through a lot of change. There was so much passion and potential, but also some real challenges behind the scenes.

Fast forward to now, and I honestly couldnโ€™t be prouder of what weโ€™ve achieved together.

In the last two years we have:

โœจ Increased our income by 44%
โœจ Built proper systems and structure to support our work
โœจ Grown our team and amazing group of volunteers
โœจ Created a strong identity and voice for the organisation
โœจ Expanded into new areas and reached more people
โœจ Built fantastic partnerships across the community

Most importantly, weโ€™ve created a more stable, supportive and impactful organisation that is making a real difference every day.

Looking back through my two-year report really shows just how much has changed and how much hard work has gone into getting us here.

But what excites me most is whatโ€™s ahead.

There are so many opportunities, so much potential, and so many positive things still to come ๐ŸŒฑ

A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, youโ€™ve made it what it is.

Hereโ€™s to the next chapter.

We had a lovely morning with a visit from Brightside Adult Services today, gathering ideas to help shape our sensory garden.

From painted pebble paths and colourful bunting to a wildlife pond and welcoming entrance, the group shared so many creative ideas! We also explored the five senses, thinking about plants that look, feel, sound and smell amazing.

And of course, no visit is complete without getting stuck in, so we potted up some little lavenders, which weโ€™ll plant along our garden fence once theyโ€™re ready ๐Ÿ’œ

Weโ€™re so excited to start bringing these ideas to life in the upcoming weeks, make sure to watch this space ๐Ÿ‘€

Weโ€™re excited to share that the Ashington Cycle Hub is very much moving forward and full of energy following yesterdayโ€™s relaunch

It was fantastic to welcome so many visitors, partners, and supporters through the doors. The atmosphere was buzzing, and it really showed just how much this space means to the community. There are already so many new opportunities developing, and weโ€™re delighted to be expanding our opening by adding an extra day each week!!!

Youโ€™ll still see plenty of familiar faces, including our continued work alongside Cycle With Jan, and weโ€™re also thrilled to have welcomed even more wonderful volunteers who are helping shape what comes next.

This is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the Ashington Cycle Hub, and we canโ€™t wait to build it together with all of you ๐Ÿ’š

Weโ€™re delighted to share the outcomes of our Annual Meeting, a moment to reflect on an incredible year and look ahead to an exciting future.

A huge congratulations to ๐€๐ง๐ง๐ž ๐‹๐ฒ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ, who steps into the role of Chair. Anne brings a wealth of experience leading charities and a proven track record of strategic thinking, collaboration, and impact. She is a thoughtful, values-driven leader with a deep understanding of the sector, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her guiding the next chapter of our work.

We also want to recognise ๐‰๐จ๐ž ๐‰๐š๐œ๐ค๐ฌ๐จ๐ง, who now takes on the role of ๐•๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ข๐ซ after many years as Chair. As a founding member of the organisation back in 2014, Joe has been instrumental in shaping who we are today. His leadership has steered us through significant challenges, including the COVID years, with resilience, compassion, and unwavering commitment to our community. We are grateful that his experience and insight will continue to support us in this new role.

Weโ€™re also pleased to share that ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐“๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ž๐ฌ have been re-elected. Their ongoing commitment, guidance and governance are vital to the organisation, providing strong direction and leadership as we continue to grow and develop.

This leadership transition comes at a time of real momentum for the organisation. Over the past year, we have:

๐ŸŒฑ Reached ๐Ÿ’,๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ– participants through our programmes
๐Ÿฝ Delivered ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ supporting healthier, more sustainable lives
๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ Engaged ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ ๐ฏ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐Ÿ• ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ž๐ฌ, contributing thousands of hours
๐Ÿ“ˆ Increased our income ๐›๐ฒ ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’%, strengthening our long-term sustainability

From food education and community growing to tackling food poverty and reducing waste, our work continues to create meaningful, lasting change. Participants are building skills, confidence and connections, with

None of this would be possible without Thank you for being part of this journey.

Hereโ€™s to the year ahead, with new leadership, continued collaboration, and even greater impact. ๐Ÿ’š
