Central Pharmacy – your independent community pharmacy providing NHS and private health services in Ashington. We look forward to taking care of you.

We offer speedy prescriptions, NHS Pharmacy First, Contraceptive Support, expert advice and more, 6 days a week. Central Pharmacy has been operating for over a decade in the town of Ashington, priding itself on easily accessible patient care, and its close working relationship with neighbouring GP surgeries. Within our pharmacy we process on average over 20,000 prescription items per month for our local community. Our friendly team are on hand 6 days per week, and late Mondays and Thursdays to support you. We provide a range of clinical services including NHS Blood Pressure Checks, NHS Pharmacy First, NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service, NHS & Private Vaccinations, and Private Weight Management Service. We're also here to make prescriptions easy - with free delivery across Ashington and text notifications to let you know when your meds are sorted. We're open throughout the festive period to support you, other than Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day where we'll be closed to allow our team to enjoy Christmas with their families. 💙🩵

We're welcoming new patients and team members to the Central Pharmacy family. 🩵💊

We're starting to look after patients from Superdrug Pharmacy Ashington as their dispensary has now closed. You can collect your prescriptions from the same friendly team just down the road in Lintonville Surgery.

✅ 🚚 You can still benefit from a great range of services, including prescription delivery, and text notifications. 📲 We're also open late Mondays & Thursdays, until 8pm.

We're welcoming patients from Superdrug Ashington as their dispensary closes on 1st December. Your prescriptions will automatically transfer to us from 1st December, and you can collect from us just down the road in Lintonville Surgery.

We offer a range of health services, easy prescription collection and a well-stocked shop to help support you and your wellbeing. We're your local, independent community pharmacy, and we're open late on Mondays and Thursdays.

ℹ Our Opening Times are changing from 1st December 2025. We're going through a period of exciting change at Central Pharmacy, and we look forward to telling you all about it.

From 1st December, we'll be welcoming patients from Supderdrug Ashington's Pharmacy, as their dispensary closes. We'll also be streamlining our opening times, to expand our service offering and ensure we can continue caring for you for years to come.

We'll also still be open late alongside NPC Wellway, Northumbria Way and Lintonville on Mondays and Thursdays, making sure you can access care when you need it most. 🩵💙 Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Find out more on our website.

🐣 Our pharmacy has slightly different opening times over the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend. We're closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, and are open reduced hours of 14:00 to 17:00 on Easter Sunday.
