Before joining the people of Ashington for the Christmas light switch-on last Thursday, funeral director John Kinghorn and operative Joanne Wallis represented William Purves next to our memorial tree at the Masonic Hall.

Many families stopped by our stall to write messages to loved ones and hang them as decorations on the tree.

Thank you to the Ashington Town Council for organising this event, which saw a number of local businesses, charities and other organisations collaborate to provide our community with some early festive celebrations.
