Thanks to the incredible support of The National Lottery—who not only makes funding easy to access but actively supports charities like WISH—we’re able to turn our ideas into impactful sessions and events for our community. Alongside Action Together, this support is helping us create a brighter future for our children.

The “Give to Gain” theme truly captured the spirit of supporting and uplifting one another. It was inspiring to see so many women connect, share, and touch so many hearts through this meaningful event.

Dementia, Autism, Learning Disabilities & Mental Health Link Worker who delivers cultural competency training to health and social care professionals and designs specialist training on health and social issues.

Supporting your child’s well-being 💛

Join us at our Parents & Carers Support Group for a welcoming session offering information, shared experiences, and open discussions around topics that matter to you and your child.

📢 Special update for our next session:
We will be joined by a member of Tameside’s Children’s Services Scrutiny Panel.
The review will focus on how well children and young people’s voices are heard within SEND and social care services provided by the Council.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We especially welcome parents and carers of children with SEND needs or experience of social care, as your insight and lived experience are vital to this work.

The assurance you continue to give us is what keeps the Wish Team motivated to keep going and planning meaningful experiences like this. A huge thank you to , British Paralympic wheelchair rugby gold medallist (Tokyo 2020) and MBE, for supporting the WISH Parents Support Group.

Through his work with Scope, Ayaz shared valuable guidance to help disabled families reduce energy costs and improve home safety, including:
- Radiator efficiency
- Washing, drying, and dishwashing efficiency
- Draught proofing
- Access to the IE Hub
- The Priority Services Register
- Carbon monoxide safety (alarms change every 10 years)
- Annual gas safety checks
The gas emergency helpline
Families were also signposted to the Scope Advisory Service for further support:
