You tell yourself you’ll start Monday.

Get a gym membership.

Download a sh*tty app to follow the workouts.

And last 2 weeks before falling off again.

The real issue here isn’t the gym you’ve joined, or the apps workouts.

It’s you.

I know, I’m sounding like your ex here


But it is you.

You don’t believe that having that toned physique you’ve dreamed of is possible.

And therefore you just set tiny goals because you’re already half convinced you’ll fail.

“I just want to lose a bit of belly fat.”

“I’d be happy fitting my old jeans.”

You’re limiting yourself before you’ve even started.

Even if you have some success, you’ll settle for the bare minimum and then crawl back to your comfort zone.

So what’s different with my coaching?

Well thanks for asking..

I don’t just let you settle for the bare minimum.

I’m going to push you,

But that’s because you need to be pushed.

You’re going to work hard.

You’re going to be hungry.

And it’s not going to be easy.

However, If you want to do achieve something you’ve had done before, you have to do something you’ve never done before.

We start with the end in mind and work backwards, doing whatever it takes to get you there.

Harriet said she wanted to “just fit in a dress.”

But we both knew she really wanted more.

Hyrox is good if you want to get better at doing Hyrox.

But if you want to build a physique then you’re going to have to do the ‘boring’ stuff.

At least with building a physique you don’t have to fork out hundreds of pounds to take part in what is essentially an adults sports day.

And you can cancel your order for the tactical backpack and the headband.

3 weeks deep into this dieting phase.

Not much to report this week, cruising.

I always find that when I’m more disciplined with my food, every other discipline comes much easier.

I’m getting up earlier in the morning, getting my work done more efficiently, spending more time studying and generally just being more disciplined all around.

Not that I was bad in my gaining phase but I do find that naturally a tad less regimented when I’m more relaxed with my eating.

The hunger is definitely there between meals now. Finding myself watching the clock already for the next one.

Who would have thought it eh? Hunger during a fat loss phase? Remarkable really.

Mad thing is that most people expect dieting to be a breeze, if you want to get seriously lean you’re going to have to be uncomfortable at some point.

It’s just part of the process.

Anyway, more of the same this week. Just chipping away.

You don’t need fat burners.

You don’t need to run a marathon every week.

And you don’t need to cut out all of your carbs.

You just need a structured plan that focuses on the stuff that ACTUALLY works.

Plus you need the right accountability to make sure you stick to it.

Because when you’re left to your own devices you’ll skip the gym because you’re ‘not really in the mood’.

Or you’ll give in to a takeaway at the weekend because ‘everyone else was having one’.

When you read them back their f**king pathetic excuses let’s be honest.

But when you’re involved in those decisions, when it’s trying to make decisions for yourself, you’re going to pick the easy option every single time.

That’s why you need a good coach to check in with every week.

Want to know how to pack on a tonne of muscle?

Train with weights 3+ times per week.

Get progressively stronger.

Eat enough food.

Sleep 7+ hours.

Do it for consistently for years.

Simple? Yes.

But not easy.

You have to be willing to put in the work and be patient.

There’s no magic pill.

No shortcut to getting jacked.

Emma is proof.

She was powerlifter for years.

Got ridiculously strong.

Trained her ass off.

When we got her diet in check and started cutting we weren’t doing anything special.

Just revealing what she’d built over a decade.

That’s the ‘secret’ nobody wants to hear.

Whether you want to get jacked like Emma or just “tone up” you need muscle first.

Otherwise when you diet down, you’ll be disappointed with what’s underneath.

My clients plan years in advance.

Because this s**t takes time.

Stop looking for shortcuts and start building for the long term so you have something worth cutting down for.

Stop looking for a quick fix.

All guys are the same, you want to get shredded and you want it now.

If there was a quick way to get you into the best shape of your life without injecting yourself with a rusty needle then trust me I’d be selling it.

I’d be the Jeff Bezos of the fitness world.

Delivering fresh gains to your door in 24 hours or less.

But in reality dropping fat and getting shredded isn’t going to happen over night.

Take Gavin for example, he’s lost 14kg in 20 weeks.

That’s over half a kg lost per week.

I’d argue that’s pretty f**king quick for those sort of results.

However it is still 5 months, and most of you can barely stick to a diet for 5 days.

So what’s the solution?

Probably forgetting everything you’ve ever known about dieting.

Because in the past it’s been all or nothing,

You’re either on the plan eating like a bodybuilder or you’re eating out of Greggs every lunch time, there’s no inbetween.

Unless you’re doing a shoot prep or planning on stepping on stage then there is no reason your diet can’t have some element of flexibility.

No reason you can’t have the odd higher calorie day at the weekend with the Mrs.

Or the odd night out with the boys.

That doesn’t mean you can take the p*ss.

And it doesn’t mean that 90% of your food isn’t going to come from nutrient dense whole foods and lean proteins.

But it does mean that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

And you don’t have to be either on or off the diet.

So you won’t find yourself starting and stopping every few weeks.

You’ll be consistent.

Then when you’re consistent for long enough, your body will start to change.

This is the mistake most guys make every year.

You start to diet down in January but eventually after going all in at the start you get sick of eating the same old foods every day.

And eventually you give up like you always do


Until later in the year you realise your holidays just around the corner.

All of sudden the rush is on, you’ve got a month to go from dad bod to shredded.

Maybe it’s time to try that clen stuff your mate was on about?

But deep down you know there’s no quick fix, and you’re not going to have that six pack for your holiday.

So naturally you half arse it for a month before claiming that you don’t care about having a six pack anyway.

Sure ya don’t.

The cold hard reality is that you’re going to need at least six months to get shredded.

And that’s assuming you’ve got a decent baseline to work from.

Most of my clients are planning years in advance.

Because transforming your physique doesn’t happen over days and weeks, it happens over months and years.

The weekly update photos that absolutely no one has been waiting for.

2 weeks into dieting and for the first time I’ve actually started to feel a little hungry.

Not surprising considering I was eating over 3000kcal per day just over a couple of weeks ago.

Average weight only moved down by 0.1kg last week but I did hit a new low of 72.2kg and I am looking a fair bit sharper IMO.

However I’m wanting to get this prep over and done with so I did make another diet adjustment this week.
