New Babywearing Workshops! 🥰

Lots of new, virtual workshops coming this Spring & Summer:

- Newborn Babywearing - always books up quickly. Stretchy wraps can be borrowed for this or purchased at a discount.
- Wonderful Wovens - everything you need to know about woven wraps.
- Babywearing 101 - if you're not sure where to start and would like to see all the options, this is for you.

Group learning can be so much fun. Workshops are relaxed with plenty of time to learn at your pace.

😍 Belfast Sling Social & Sling Library Friday 13 March 😍

This month we'll be talking rules (what are they and which ones truly matter), guidelines and seasonal babywearing.

We're going to have a really strong focus on safety & what to wear when babywearing, so book your appointment now!

We'll also be talking about transitioning through to Spring - what to wear and how to wear it!

This is an appointment-based slingmeet. Sling hire is for 1 month.
Below are the time slots. I will post each appointment in the comments.

Each appointment is approx 20 minutes for Library Hire / 15 minutes for Fit Check.

There is no deposit for library hires. We are inviting a £10 deposit, which cheerfully counts toward your hire fee on the day.

Your deposit secures your appointment.

Appointments are not secured until the deposit is received.
It's a sling social too, there are chairs set out, so come along to learn more, meet other parents and enjoy the craic.

If you're returning a sling only, please drop it off before 10am (no need to book). Otherwise there will be another month's hire fee to pay.

If you're returning a sling and want to hire another, please book a slot.

Come along & hire or try our huge collection of baby slings and carriers.

Want a fit-check with your own carrier? No problem, we can do that too.

Fourth Trimester Babywearing 😍

Why Babywearing? 🤔

Those first weeks and months are a time of great change for baby and you. Being held, being close, eases the transition from womb to world.

Carrying in arms and in a sling is essential to the normal physical, psychological and neurological development of your baby. It’s the foundation on which their whole lives are built.

Every time you hold your baby close, the hormone oxytocin is released. Oxytocin (sometimes called the love hormone) is the hormone that underlies trust - it gives us that happy, warm feeling. So when we carry our babies close, oxytocin is released - it’s a feel good thing.

Babies are meant to be carried. They need to be close to you, to be held. Babies feel more content, calmer next to you - you make them feel secure and safe.

You are their world.

What Are Your Options?

There are 3 options available when it comes to babywearing.

Each has value and each offers something different.

1. Slingmeets offer short appointments (hire appointments longer, fit-check shorter); they are the most economical option and are a way to socialise and meet other parents too.
2. Workshops are small group learning events. Usually over a few hours they are sling/age specific events (ie. woven wraps / newborns).
3. Consultations are one-to-one and tailored to you and your needs.

We offer all 3 options! Workshops are ongoing; Consultations by appointment.

❄️ COLD WEATHER CARRYING INFOGRAPHIC ❄️

It's proper cold, and getting out with baby in your sling or carrier takes a little bit more thought and effort.

Keep extremities covered (head, hands & feet).

Have fun! There's no better place for your little one to experience the change of the seasons - the colours, sights and smells - than from the comfort of a sling, tucked up all snug and safe right next to you. Be sensible & cautious too though ❤️❤️❤️
