Peacefully at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, on Monday 30th March, 2026, Dorothy (Dot) Moyce, née Nicol, aged 67 years, of Achabhandra, Kingussie.
Devoted wife of John, dear cousin of Sandra, a loyal friend and a much loved former teacher at Kingussie High School who will be sadly missed. Funeral service to take place at Our Lady of the Rosary and St Columba RC Church, Kingussie on Tuesday 14th April, 2026 at 12:00noon, with interment thereafter in Kingussie New Cemetery. It is with profound sadness that the family of Aubrey Dickson (55), formerly of Aviemore, wish to notify family and friends of his sudden passing after a period of illness in Ward 54, at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh on the morning of Tuesday 17th March.

A Direct Cremation (unattended), as per Aubrey's wishes, will take place on Tuesday 31st March at 08:15 and the family invite you to recall your fondest memories of Aubrey and raise a glass in celebration of his life at this time.

Aubrey will be deeply missed as a loyal and loving partner to Jason, beloved brother to Natasha, much loved stepson to Sue, stepbrother to Alain, Nephew, Cousin, Uncle "Strawberry", and cherished friend to so many

🥀❤️‍🩹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 30 years ago today, Scotland and the town of Dunblane changed forever.

16 children and their brave teacher went to school and never came home. 15 others were injured.

30 years on, our hearts go out to the town of Dunblane. We have never forgotten, not for one moment.

No one tells you
that the ground will feel different.
Not broken
just unfamiliar.
Like stepping into a room you’ve lived in for years
and finding all the furniture moved
in the dark.

After loss,
the world doesn’t end.
It shifts.
Morning light still slips through the blinds,
coffee still steams in the quiet,
cars still pass your window
but you walk through it all
as if learning gravity again.
There is an unsure way of living
that comes after.

You question your laughter.
You hesitate before making plans.
You stand in grocery aisles
staring at brands you once chose together
and suddenly
choice feels impossible.
It isn’t only them you lost.
It’s the version of you
that existed beside them
the one who knew where they were headed,
who felt anchored,
who trusted tomorrow.

Now tomorrow feels like fog.
You move forward
but gently,
like someone crossing ice
unsure of what will hold.
And yet
somehow
your heart keeps beating.
Your lungs keep filling.
You wake up again
even when you’re not sure you want to.

That is its own kind of bravery.
There is a quiet strength
in learning how to stand
without the hands
that once steadied you.
In choosing to breathe
inside a world
that no longer makes sense.

The unsure way is not weakness.
It is grief
teaching you
how to walk
on unfamiliar ground
slowly,
trembling,
but still moving.

And maybe one day
the dark room won’t feel so foreign.
Maybe you’ll know
where to place your feet.
Until then,
it is enough
that you are still here.
