Athlete’s foot is one of the most common types of fungal infections seen in humans and affects 3-15% percent of the population every year.
Some of the most common causes of athlete’s foot are Sweaty or dirty feet and working out in shared spaces and wearing thick, sturdy shoes that block air from reaching the toes. Research shows that men are more likely than women to develop athlete’s foot on one or both feet.
Parts of the body where symptoms of athlete’s foot appear most often are:
The spaces between the toes. The gap between the little toe and the toe beside it is one where most people will develop symptoms.
Across the bottom of the foot, as well as the soles and heels, if you have moccasin athlete’s foot.

Common Signs & Symptoms of Athlete’s Foot.

The most common symptoms of athlete’s foot include:
Itchiness and burning around the toes.

Cracked, torn or flaky skin on the toes that looks very dry.
White colouring of the skin, or sometimes redness around the toes, can develop.

Swelling, thickening of the skin, heat and pain can happen in some cases. Swelling becomes worse when the infection is deeper and more severe.

Sometimes a “stinky” smell to the feet.

Preventing and treating Athletes Foot.

Fungal infections are stubborn, so to keep them away you need to change certain lifestyle habits to help you avoid recurrence of athlete’s foot
• Eat some natural antioxidant foods such as parsley leaves.
• Keep your feet clean and dry.
• Eat immune boosting foods.
• Try not to pick and scratch the infection.
• Wear cotton socks to minimize the risk.
• Don’t wear another person shoes and sandals.
It will also help to cut down on spicy food.

Message me if you are interested in my essential oil blend for Athletes foot, to be applied to clean dry feet once or twice a day. £3 for a 10ml bottle (approx. 40 drops).

With Hay fever season coming up, here are some tips to help you reduce your pollen intake.

1. Wash bed sheets weekly in hot water. Do not hang clothes outside to dry where they can trap pollens.

2. Always bathe and wash hair before bedtime as pollen can collect on skin and hair throughout the day.

3. Avoid peak times for pollen exposure (hot, dry, windy days, usually between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.). Although pollens are usually emitted in early morning, peak times for dissemination are between around 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

4. Keep windows and car windows closed; use air conditioning in both if possible rather than opening windows.

5. Keep pets out of the bedroom and off of furniture, since they may carry pollen if they have been outdoors.

If you suffer from the effects of hay fever why not try my essential oil blend for hay fever relief, massage the oils onto the temples, behind the ears and the bottoms of the feet, you can also diffuse this blend or use a couple of drops on a tissue and inhale it as needed. This blend uses peppermint, eucalyptus, sage and lavender essential oils. £3 for a 10ml bottle (about 200 drops).
