This article is disturbing and horrifying. Therapy at its worst - damaging people instead of helping them.
As a therapist I'm very much aware of false memory syndrome, the danger of leading your client, therapists having their own agenda and wanting to prove a theory at the expense of their client. And why is there still a belief that people need to be in therapy for years?
I see clients for between 1 and 3 sessions depending on the issue. If it's multiple issues then additional sessions may be necessary. I utilise a very safe and gentle form of regression with my clients. If they don't want to be regressed then I don't use it.
