Demand for care home beds is projected to almost double by 2050.

New research shows that while the country had around 480,000 care home beds in 2023, the ageing population will push demand far beyond capacity, to around 750,000 places by 2050.

Home care options are an alternative to care homes and support the delivery of faster, person-centred support. With options ranging from home care to live-in and specialist care, whatever route selected will enable your elderly relatives to stay in the comfort of a familiar setting whilst still receiving outstanding care and the attention they require!

According to Age UK, there are an estimated 1.25 million sandwich carers – those caring for an older relative as well as bringing up a family – in the UK.

As we come to the end of the holiday season, how many sandwich carers won’t have taken a well-needed break?

Organising professional support from a qualified carer in the home helps all members of the family retain their independence and lifestyles. However, family members will want to keep a close eye that a home carer has not only turned up as planned to provide food, check dressings and oversee medication management but, just as importantly, that they are providing companionship and making sure their loved one is in good spirits. 🤗

🥇 The results are in!

A huge congratulations to our Summer Steps Challenge champion, Sarish, who logged an impressive 1,234,376 steps in three months! 👣🎉

And well done to all of our team who took part – together, we racked up more than 10,113,872 steps in total!

A big thank you to our clients, too, for cheering us on and sharing ideas for getting a few extra steps in along the way.

What started as a fun way to boost morale after the winter months became a great reminder that we can all find a little more time to look after ourselves and enjoy the outdoors 🌿
