I really enjoyed this course. Having an understanding and awareness of Melanoma and Skin Cancer is so important, for everyone! And, as a Foot Health Professional, I am in a position where I see patients regularly and can observe and monitor skin for any changes that may occur, especially in places where patients may not see it themselves e.g. under the foot or in-between toes. Since doing this course I feel more confident in how to identify suspicious lesions and how to communicate any possible concerns with my patients and refer or sign post to take appropriate action. I will do this course every year to keep my knowledge and skills up to date. And this little booklet will come with me everywhere!!

If you would to take part in some festive fun, and maybe share what you do by sponsoring (bringing and decorating a tree however you wish) at The Chrismtas Tree Festival in Aylesbury, whilst helping to raise funds for important work with children in our community then check out the link below. Last year there were around 100 tress!! 🎄🎄🤩🤩My friend Mim is a qualified Play Therapist who runs POP. They help children heal through the power of play. Children can access therapy easier through play than through talking. Pop@Storehouse helps children and families access play therapy for free when finances are a barrier. Display your tree for the festival on 29th and 30th November. You can also have a market stall on the 30th. I believe Santa will be visiting and there will be adult festive workshops from 7pm on the 29th.

Some more useful reading for me tonight which will not only help me provide a better service for my patients, but also help me, my friends and my family.. I used to hate wearing a sunhat and sunscreen as a child and even as a young adult. Such a faff and so uncomfortable, I used to give my parents a hard time for making me do it. As I got older I knew better. But not enough, by far! I am so pleased to be taking the time now, to educate myself better. I'm looking at skin in my job constantly so it really makes A LOT of sense to know more and do better. We can all learn some stuff around skin cancer prevention and early detection. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer and most cases are preventable. If we know better we can do better for ourselves and our families. ❤️❤️
