Choosing professionals and therapies for your horse…
Not every therapy/modality is right for every horse (at any particular time), and the same goes for the therapist. Horses are individuals just like people and all animals. If a therapy, schedule, or recommendation doesn’t sit right with you, your gut may be telling you it’s not right for your horse. Energy doesn’t lie and you feel when it’s not the right fit for you both.
When I got my horse, he had various emotional and physical health challenges that needed on-going managing - from discomfort from old injuries (DDFT, broken pelvis), chronic illness (equine asthma) and being depressed and shut down from not being heard by humans in the past. He responded much better to energy healing therapies than some conventional therapies; other horses may be the opposite and every scenario is different. , and acupuncture worked well for him - as a whole body holistic approach to keeping him comfortable physically, and more balanced mentally & emotionally. His enjoyment and releases during the sessions were lovely to see, as well as his on-going progress. seeing how much these therapies helped him led me to where I am now! (More on that in my next blog).
