Great day of learning today at IHCAN Summit in London.

The topics included the oral microbiome and its importance for full body health, use of AI for nutrition practitioners, complete gut microbiome testing for personalised nutrition, and immune dysregulation, neurodivergence and mental health.

Feeling super inspired listening to all the speakers today and looking forward to applying all my learning with clients in clinic.

This is a really big topic that affects every one of us and significantly impacts our health in many ways.

Food doesn't need to be complicated. Simple is best as nature intended.

Steamed kale, steamed carrots, honey mustard dressing (whole grain mustard, honey, acv, sea salt, evoo), poached egg.

Nutritious and delicious.

Keep food simple. Your gut will thank you. 👍...

We had our group session today, where I talked about fatigue and some underlying drivers of feeling TATT - Tired All The Time.

There are also many health conditions where fatigue is a prominent symptom.

I talked about the different general diet and lifestyle things that we should all be questioning to help combat fatigue.

Of course, my drivers for feeling TATT will not be the same as your drivers for feeling TATT.

So I also explained how with personalised nutrition, we can really put a focussed lens on the individual and dig deep, and investigate the root causes. We can then target the right drivers with the right diet and lifetsyle interventions.

What could be causing you to feel so tired all the time.

Feeling Tired All The Time?..
Maybe it's regular exercise that's needed. Physical activity boosts energy levels in many ways.

💪 *Improved mitochondrial function*
~ The mitochondria (I call it the almighty one 😊) is the body's energy producing powerhouse. Exercise increases the number and efficiency of these.

~ This means oxygen is utilised better and cellular energy metabolism is better.

💪 *Improved circulation and oxygen delivery*
~ Aerobic exercise (such as running) strengthens the heart and improves circulation. This means our muscles and organs receive more oxygen and nutrients, through more efficient delivery. Feelings of fatigue are reduced and stamina is increased.

💪 *Hormonal and neurochemical boost*
~ That great feeling post exercise is the endorphins. It also stimulates dopamine and serotonin, improving mood, motivation and perceived energy.

~ Exercise also helps regulate the stress hormone cortisol, lowering stress related fatigue.

💪 *Improved sleep quality*
~ Moderate regular exercise promotes deeper restorative sleep, which then increases energy during the day as well as alertness.

💪 *Reduces chronic fatigue symptoms*
~ Studies show that even light activity (e.g. yoga, walking) reduces fatigue in conditions such as ME/CFS and depression, improving daily energy.

So bottom line is MOVE YOUR BODY! 🏃‍♀️💃🚴‍♂️ Regular movement trains your body to make more energy. The body adapts and does what it needs to do. Tell it to make energy!
