NHS Ayrshire & Arran is proud to support the global 16 Days of Action campaign, which runs from 25 November -10 December.

This campaign shines a light on gender-based violence and calls for action to make women and children safe from abuse.

To mark the start of the campaign, Chief Executive Gordon James, Medical Director Dr Crawford McGuffie, and members of our Senior Management Team signed the White Ribbon Pledge:
“Never commit, condone or remain silent about men’s violence against women.”

Due to a sharp rise in flu and other respiratory infections, we’ve made the difficult decision to suspend routine visiting across all NHS Ayrshire & Arran hospitals from Thursday 4 December.
Essential visits only will be supported at this time, and we’ll review the situation daily and restore routine visiting as soon as it’s safe.
Our teams will help patients and families stay connected during this time.
Please do your part to reduce the spread of infection: wash your hands, stay home if unwell, and consider getting your flu and COVID vaccines.

Preconception Views Survey - We Need Your Help

The Health Improvement Team is gathering views from local women and men of reproductive age to better understand preconception and pregnancy planning awareness, and how people seek out information on this topic.

We've created a short online survey to explore what people know, where they look for information, and what support would be helpful. You're invited to take part if you're aged 18+, and we'd also really appreciate your help in sharing the survey with your networks and anyone who may be interested.

Your support will help us reach a wider range of voices and make sure the findings reflect the needs of our local population.

PLEASE NOTE: closing date for survey responses is MONDAY 12 JANUARY 2026.
