📢 Resident Doctors Strike Action 📢

14th - 19th November 2025

Starting tomorrow, Friday 14th November until 7am on Wednesday 19th November, some of our resident doctors (formerly junior doctors, i.e. those in training posts in general practices and hospitals) are eligible for participation in formal strike action. This may mean there is reduced appointment availability whilst this strike action is in place.

We thank patients for their understanding & support during this time.

Christmas is coming — and we need your help to make our waiting room sparkle with festive cheer!

Pick up one of our Christmas decorations to colour in while you wait (located in the childrens play corner) and when you’re finished, hand it in to reception.

We’ll display your colourful creations for everyone to enjoy! ✨

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Rowan Chamberlain has joined our practice. She will be working Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays!

Dr. Chamberlain brings extensive experience as a GP and former GP Partner, and her expertise will be a valuable addition to our team.

We look forward to the contributions she will make in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Patient Participation Group- Dates 2026

Due to winter pressures, we will be resuming our Patient Participation Sessions on the following dates:

Bakewell Surgery : Tuesday 13th January, 6:30–7:30 pm
Tideswell Surgery: Tuesday 17th February, 6:30–7:30 pm
Bakewell Surgery: Thursday 19th March, 6:30–7:30 pm

We look forward to welcoming you back and appreciate your continued involvement and support.

Every voice counts, whether you can commit to meetings or just want to offer occasional feedback.

Flu and Covid vaccinations are now able to be booked in the surgeries.
The flu campaign begins at different dates for different groups

From 1 September 2025:

pregnant women
all children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2025

all children in clinical risk groups aged from 6 months to less than 18 years

From October 2025

those aged 65 years and over
those aged 18 years to under 65 years in clinical risk groups
those in long-stay residential care homes
carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer led occupational health scheme including those working for a registered residential care or nursing home, registered domiciliary care providers, voluntary managed hospice providers and those that are employed by those who receive direct payments (personal budgets) or Personal Health budgets, such as Personal Assistants

Covid eligibility is different to that of last winter

For autumn 2025, COVID-19 vaccination will be offered to:

adults aged 75 years and over
residents in care homes for older adults
individuals who are immunosuppressed aged 6 months and over (the practice cannot at this time vaccinate children)

We now have our new resident doctors in our surgeries.
Dr Ibran Younas is our new foundation doctor who will be with us until December. Dr Younas will be based at our Tideswell Practice working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Dr Lewis Gillespie is our new foundation doctor who will be with us until December. Dr Gillespie will be based at our Bakewell site.
Dr Malak Ali is a doctor in specialist GP training, Dr Ali will be based at our Bakewell site working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Dr Jasmin Rea is in her final stage of GP training and works Monday and Tuesday in our Bakewell site.
Dr Wesam Farah is in her final stage of GP training and works Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at our Bakewell site.
We are also currently joined by medical students from the university College London Medical School. If you see a medical student you will also be joined by a GP during the consultation.
