🚨 A gentle but important reminder🚨

Our reception team are here to help you every single day and they deserve to feel safe, respected, and supported while doing their jobs.

Unfortunately, I have recently had to send out 4 warning letters due to abusive behaviour towards my staff 😔 This is not acceptable under any circumstances.

The receptionists do NOT “gatekeep” appointments, they follow practice guidelines to ensure everyone gets the care they need.

Kindness costs nothing, but it means everything!

Abuse, aggression, or disrespect towards the team will not be tolerated ❗

We are incredibly grateful to the many patients who are always kind, patient, and supportive 💙 — and to those who speak up when they see others being rude 👏

📢 Important Notice – Repeat Prescription Requests

We kindly ask patients not to call the surgery to order repeat prescriptions.
Over the next few months, we will continue to process requests made by phone while everyone becomes aware of this change. However, this will be documented, and we will no longer accept prescription requests over the phone moving forward.

Why are we making this change?

To improve patient safety, reduce errors from misheard medication names, minimise waste, and keep phone lines available for patients who need medical appointments.

How to order your repeat prescriptions:
✔️ NHS App (preferred method)
✔️ GP Online Services
✔️ In person using the prescription request box at the surgery (Box located to the left of the main doors and next to the patient check in screen)
✔️ Emailing the practice with your requests

We’re offering a walk-in clinic for all patients eligible for the Spring COVID-19 booster tomorrow:
🕣 8:30am – 12:30pm
🕐 1:00pm – 4:00pm

If you’re eligible, you will have received an SMS invitation.
No appointment needed—simply attend the surgery and let a member of our reception team know you’re here for your COVID jab.

Meet Madison, one of our lovely new reception team members! 😊

Madison joined us just before Easter and has already settled in wonderfully 🌸 She’s been busy shadowing colleagues, getting to know the team, and learning what to expect in her new role at Balderton Surgery.
Joining the NHS has always been a goal of Madison’s, and we’re delighted to have her as part of our team! 💙

As Madison continues through her training stages, we kindly ask everyone to be patient and supportive while she learns the ropes 🙏
