Fantastic idea!!!

A phone box with a difference!

A disused phone box in the village of Eastbury has been transformed into a defibrillator station for residents to use should the situation arise.

After a cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces someone's chance of survival by 10%, so having this life saving piece of equipment to hand for this community is a fantastic idea.

Something for phone boxes in villages across the country perhaps?

Fantastic outcome! Remember that in cardiac arrest AEDs have the best chance of restarting the heart when good quality CPR has taken place prior to its use. Blue hearts don't start..learn good CPR to keep that heart pink. Speak to us now about booking your course.

Last year, 17 year old Jamie Lee Beddow went into cardiac arrest at home and it took paramedics 25 minutes to get her stable. She has since been diagnosed with Long QT Syndrome; an inherited condition that can cause heart rhythm disturbances.

The talented footballer was advised that she should no longer play her favourite sport unless there is a defibrillator nearby in case she suffers another collapse.

Jamie Lee was left heartbroken by the news, but all hope wasn’t lost! A charity event organised by Jamie Lee’s coach helped to raise £1,700 towards purchasing a defibrillator to be installed at her club.

Now that the defib is in place, Jamie Lee is able to keep up her hobby in the knowledge that help would only be a few steps away.
