I so often hear people say they’d love to join a Pilates class, but they’re afraid they’re not flexible enough, strong enough, or that they “won’t be able to do it.”
And I want to reassure you — I completely understand, because I once felt exactly the same.
It was a long time ago now, but it took real courage for me to walk into my first gym session and eventually into a group class. That nervous feeling? I remember it well.
But here’s the truth:
If you feel like you don’t have the strength or flexibility you’d like, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t start… it’s actually a sign of how much you have to gain.
Often, the moment we feel furthest from our goals is exactly when starting matters most — because that’s where the biggest shifts happen.
The beautiful thing about Pilates is that it welcomes all bodies, all abilities, and all seasons of life. There isn’t a “perfect starting point.” There’s just your starting point — and it’s enough.
If you’re wanting to start but feeling the nerves, I’d encourage you to lean into your curiosity.
What could happen a year from now if you chose to commit to yourself?
