A sad day for Optics. I have used the Norville company for 46yrs.. many complex spectacle lenses made by them.
It’s another example of a long established business closing its doors. The staff had so much knowledge, I hope they get new jobs. 🥲

Just had a call from a Be my eyes user.
This is a wonderful service it allows blind people to call total strangers and ask for help.
My task just now was to identify the names on CD covers. This means the person doesn’t need to ‘bother’ family etc. The call goes out to several people at random and if you can’t answer then someone else does. How good is that!!!
