If eating out as a family feels stressful — especially at this time of year — you’re not alone.
Festive meals bring new foods, smells, noises, and pressure, which can be overwhelming for fussy or sensory eaters.

When I first met Nuala, she hadn’t eaten out with her daughter in months.
Through our 1:1 support, we worked on calm exposure, routine, and sensory strategies — and by Christmas, they were enjoying family meals out again.
That’s not just about food. It’s about freedom, confidence, and connection.

✨ If you’d love to feel calmer before Christmas, now’s the perfect time to start 1:1 support.
We’ll build a plan tailored to your child’s comfort level so you can head into the holidays feeling confident.

🌿 And if you’re ready to make lasting change, my new Calm Plates Parent Programme launches in January — a gentle reset for calmer mealtimes in 2026.

🎄 Fun, familiar, and festive — the perfect combo for fussy or sensory eaters.

Tree sandwiches and pizza faces turn everyday foods into a playful way to explore without pressure.
Your child doesn’t have to eat what they make — just joining in builds comfort and confidence.

✨ Try it:

-Offer a mix of familiar foods (wraps, cheese, tomato, cucumber).

-Keep textures predictable.

-Praise curiosity, not bites.

Small steps like this lead to calm, confident mealtimes — one play session at a time.
Comment below with a 🍕, and I’ll send you my festive food blog with more gentle, fun ideas.

Last year was such a special one — Paris and Disneyland, The Gathers in concert, decorating my Christmas tree with my bestie (new ornaments were definitely purchased 🎁in London), and making all the festive food 🍪🎶🎄

Each year I pick up a new decoration from every country I visit — I love unwrapping them and remembering those moments while we decorate. It’s one of my favourite traditions with my bestie💕

This year, my goal is simple: to slow down, say yes to more of those moments, and soak up the lead-up to Christmas — twinkly lights, cosy nights, and plenty of kitchen fun along the way 💫

It’s easy to get caught up in the rush, but I’m reminding myself — the calm moments matter most. Just like at mealtimes, it’s not about getting it “perfect”, it’s about being present and enjoying the small, imperfect bits 💕

What’s one thing you’re most looking forward to before Christmas this year? 🎅👇

🎄 Festive food overwhelm is real — and that’s okay.

If your child avoids “special” foods this season, keep mealtimes calm by starting with what feels safe.
Try adding one gentle festive twist instead of pushing something completely new 💕

✨ Small, calm exposures build trust over time — that’s what truly helps kids eat with confidence.

✨ What a month October has been… both personally and professionally! 💫
I love pausing at the end of each month to look back on the big and small moments that made me smile — here are my top 10 highlights from October 👇

1️⃣ A trip to London for the CN Awards 🎉 Such a pinch-me moment celebrating with so many inspiring professionals — and I couldn’t have done it without Holly, my biggest cheerleader, travel companion and the queen of navigating London while I dragged her around my crazy list of viral food spots 😂❤️

2️⃣ Beyond blessed to come home with two CN Awards 🏆 I still can’t quite believe it. Feeling so thankful for everyone who continues to support me, believe in my work, and share this journey with me.

3️⃣ Beautiful nails by the lovely Courtney 💅 She designed them perfectly to match my dress — it’s the little touches that make the memories feel even more special.

4️⃣ Continuing our “try new foods” adventures 🌍 sampling flavours from around the world — always proof that there’s hope for your fussy eater 😉

5️⃣ Started my Christmas shopping (yes… already!) and somehow a few new tree decorations slipped into the basket 🎄✨

6️⃣ Autumn forest walks that reminded me how much I love this cosy season — fresh air, colourful leaves and a little bit of calm 🍁

7️⃣ Treating myself to a roasted iced latte (my current obsession ☕️) in between home-improvement projects. Forever thankful for my tribe who keep me laughing and grounded through the chaos 🏡💛

8️⃣ Baking fun with A — she’s decided she wants to be a baker when she grows up and honestly, I am delighted! 🧁👩‍🍳

9️⃣ Soup season officially arrived 🍲 trying new recipes and leaning into all the comfort foods.

🔟 Hosting friends, cooking, and testing new dishes — good food, good company, full heart 🧡

🌟 October, you were filled with gratitude, laughter and plenty of memories.
Here’s to slowing down a little, embracing the cosy months ahead, and carrying this joy into November ✨

Why did I start Nutrition4Kids? 💛
After 15 years working as a children’s dietitian in hospitals and clinics, I saw the same thing again and again: parents feeling guilty, overwhelmed, and worried about feeding their children.

I knew I wanted to create something different – a service where families felt:
✔ Seen and supported (never judged)
✔ Guided with practical, realistic strategies
✔ Able to enjoy calmer mealtimes again

That’s why I started Nutrition4Kids. It wasn’t just about food – it was about helping parents feel confident and children feel safe at the table.

Now, I’m so proud to support families across the UK and Ireland every day. 💛

👉 I’d love to know – what’s one thing you wish feeding experts understood about your child? Share it in the comments 👇

Who knew when I graduated this was where I would end up. I won two awards and this was me and Ruth on the front cover of a national newspaper. I won two national awards last month and now we both work in the same trust where she is leading an amazing team!

Half-term = kids at home = lots of “what can we do?” moments 👀

Here’s my answer: bring them into the kitchen. 👩‍🍳

It doesn’t have to be complicated — in fact, simple is best:
🍫 Chocolate bark → melt, spread, sprinkle
🍞 Mummy toast → safe toast + cheese “bandages”
🍕 Pizza night → kids build their own
🍊 Fruit fun → clementine “pumpkins” & mummy bananas
🥕 Veg ideas → pepper lanterns, veggie skeletons, Dracula platter

💡 Why it works:

Kids touch, decorate & explore without pressure

Familiar foods feel new and exciting

Every experience builds comfort and confidence with food

💛 And the big reminder: even if they don’t eat what they make, helping still counts. Being included makes food less scary over time.

👉 Save this for half-term inspo.
