Bowel concerns and troubles are a hugely sensitive and intimate topic which can leave people housebound and isolated. As part of her women’s health journey, Paula has invested her time in vital training to help support the women in our community. Bladder and bowel issues are often linked and are exceptionally common but not something that has to be accepted long term. If you have any queries or if you would like to book in please call Deeside Physiotherapy 01330 820999

Diastasis Re**us Abdominus (DRA) or abdominal separation can be such a confusing symptom for patients to understand and treat. It’s not surprising either with all of the conflicting information that you can Google. Mix in some fear triggering and unresearched facts and we have a recipe for women disaster. We see women not progressing, avoiding exercise out of fear and deconditioned.

Women’s Health physiotherapists are well placed to help bust these myths and support you on you lR recovery journey. Look one up in your area and start your journey.

Paula would love to assist you in clinic here

Did you know that the hormone Progesterone [Pro-Gestation] plays a vital role in the intricate balance of pregnancy?

It helps establish the placenta, stimulate growth of blood vessels to the womb and it keeps the uterus relaxed preventing contraction so that the foetus can grow.

A by product of this increase in progesterone is the relaxing of the smooth muscles in the digestive tract. This can result in slower transit through the gut, nausea, vomiting, constipation, haemorrhoids and dehydration.

So make sure to keep up with the water intake and lovely foods that will help digestion along. 😊

A specially designed Physio Women’s Health Assessment to keep you well, healthy and help to manage aches & pains during your pregnancy. It will help to prepare you for all types of deliveries, vaginal, C-section and other medical interventions. No matter what birth you may choose or end up having, we can help you to prepare.

Ideally we would like all of you to have a check at 2 important points in your pregnancy, around 20 weeks (ideally following your scan) and 35 weeks, these are milestone points which are well timed to support you on voices through pregnancy based on findings.

If you have any pain or discomfort, Paula, our women’s health physio would be delighted to see you at anytime during your pregnancy.

EXCITING NEWS!!

I am doing some work from home today….mostly studying but I am also very very excited to share that I am working on a mini project for journal. 🤓

is Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy and is the UKs Professional Network affiliated to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

It’s members are chartered physiotherapists with a clinical interest and or speciality in pelvic, obstetric and gynaelogical physiotherapy.

Amongst other things, they support us through promotion of high standards of practice and provide top class training so we can improve our specialist therapeutic skills through courses, workshops and research.

As a relatively new member, I’ve been blown away by the knowledge and work ethic of everyone I have come into contact with and I am looking forward to being more involved with POGP activities in the future!
