🌿 That Sunday feeling… 🌿

As the festive break comes to an end, people often feel very different things.

Some are craving routine, structure, and normality.
Others feel a sense of dread — about work, responsibilities, finances, or the pace of “real life” returning.

Both responses make sense.

If you’re feeling uneasy tonight, it doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you.
Transitions can stir up anxiety, especially when rest ends and demands return.

A gentle way to approach tonight:
• Focus on just tomorrow, not the whole week
• Do one small thing that feels grounding
• Remind yourself that routine can be rebuilt gradually

And if the dread feels heavy or familiar, it may be worth paying attention to — support can help you understand what’s underneath it.

🌱 Therapeutic Writing Course – starting Monday

After Christmas and New Year, many of us feel reflective, emotionally full, or in need of something grounding.

This Monday evening (5th January) we’re starting a 6-week therapeutic writing course, running 7–9pm, led by Grace and Kerry — experienced mental health clinicians who also have published creative writing.

This is not about becoming a better writer. This course uses creative and reflective writing therapeutically in a safe space.
No writing experience is needed.

We’re offering a reduced rate for the last spaces so get in touch to book your place.

If it helps, try this simple exercise:

1️⃣ One thing you’re grateful for
(big or small — it still counts)

2️⃣ One thing you learned this year
about yourself, others, or life

3️⃣ One thing you’re leaving behind
a habit, expectation, or belief that no longer serves you

There’s no right or wrong way to reflect.
No need to feel positive about everything.
Just notice what’s there.

However you’re ending this year — quietly, socially, or somewhere in between — we wish you a gentle close and a kind start to what comes next.

For others, it’s still time off.
And for many, it’s a strange mix of tiredness, heaviness, guilt, or regret.

You might be noticing:
• Sluggishness after overindulging
• Worry about spending more than planned
• A sense of “I let myself go”
• Pressure to get back on track immediately

A gentle reminder today:
You don’t need to punish yourself to move forward.

This time of year is about transition — not judgement.

For many people, this season brings more than lights and celebrations.

It can bring:
• Pressure to feel joyful
• Expectations (our own and everyone else’s)
• Overwhelm and exhaustion
• Loneliness — even when surrounded by people
• Grief for what or who is missing

If you’re finding this time of year hard, you’re not failing — you’re human.

It’s okay to:
• Lower the bar
• Say no
• Step back from traditions that don’t serve you
• Do Christmas your way this year

A gentle reminder this evening:
You don’t have to meet every expectation to be worthy of rest, care, and kindness — especially your own.
