We are devastated today to see that yet another funeral company have let down the families they were supposed to be supporting and placing profit above the dignity and respect of those resting in their care.
What we can assure you is that the majority of funeral companies do not and never would operate in this way.
Unfortunately the funeral industry in Wales remains unregulated, but many companies like our own are registered and inspected by trade associations such as the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD).
We encourage you to ask questions and ensure that you are confident in the care provided by a funeral company before entrusting them with the care of your person. If they are a transparent and honest company they should have no problem answering your questions and even showing you their facilities if you ask to see them.

Let us introduce you to the newest member of the Enfys family, this is "number 57".
Ok, we're still working on the name, but the work has started and we'll soon have a second office/meeting space in Bethesda.
When we were planning Enfys in 2020, we were torn between Bangor and Bethesda, and now we have both!
There is so much more we want to offer, so much support we could give if we just had a little more space - grief support groups, workshops, even death cafe's mabye?
Watch this space, 2026 will be our year.

Penelope (Penny) Fincken (nee Ward)

Passed away peacefully at Bryn Seiont Newydd, Caernarfon, on Saturday 17th January 2026, aged 78 years.
Formerly of Truro, Cornwall, and Barnet, London.
Beloved wife of Tony, much loved mum of Lucy and Jilly, and stepmother of Richard, mother-in-law of Gary and Raj.
Granny to Ailbhe, Lara, Alex, Callum, Jack, Holly, Lauren, Oscar, Kaitlyn and Saoirse. Dear sister of Les, Warren and the late Elisabeth and Graeme.
She will be deeply missed by her family and wide circle of friends.
Penny's funeral service will be held at 2.30pm on Monday 2nd March 2026 at Bangor Crematorium, LL57 4HP.
Refreshments will be served afterwards at The Management Centre, Bangor Business School, College Road, Bangor, Gwynedd LL57 2DG. An opportunity to gather and celebrate Penny's life.
Donations are gratefully received in lieu of flowers towards the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution).

Jean Berridge
The family of the late Jean Berridge would like to share their gratitude for the kind expressions of sympathy, cards of condolence, and donations totalling £555 towards Lung Cancer Research collected in her memory.

Special thanks also to Reverend Sara Roberts for leading Jean's service.

Jean will be missed terribly by her husband John, her children Joan, Jayne, Neil and Teresa and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Brenda Owen

The family of the late Brenda Owen would like to share their gratitude for the kind expressions of sympathy, cards of condolence, and donations to Plas Ogwen and The British Red Cross collected in her memory.
A total of £250 was raised in memory of Brenda and will be shared with the two organisations that she appreciated very much.

Special thanks to Reverend Chistopher Prew for leading Brenda's service and for the friendship and kindness he extended to her for many years as a member of his congregation.

Through the spring, summer and autumn this field provides us with endless amounts of beautiful home grown flowers, and we love it.

I can't express how lovely it was to have Louise back in the office for a couple of days this week. I have missed my sidekick terribly, and I'm so pleased that she's feeling well enough to slowly transition back into work.
A huge thank you to our lovely team, our funeral director friends and our suppliers, celebrants and ministers who have all been ultra supportive while Lou has been unwell.
We appreciate every one of you!

Alla i ddim mynegi pa mor hyfryd oedd cael Louise yn ôl yn y swyddfa am gwpl o ddiwrnodau wythnos yma. Dwi wedi colli fy ffrind yn ofnadwy, a dwi mor falch ei bod hi'n teimlo'n ddigon da i ddychwelyd yn ôl i'r gwaith yn araf.

Brenda Owen of Plas Ogwen, Bethesda, formerly Porthmadog, peacefully at Ysbyty Gwynedd on 27th December 2025 aged 86 years.
A much-loved mother, Naini, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, friend and faithful volunteer of over 15 years at The British Red Cross, Porthmadog.
Brenda will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all of the people whose lives she touched.
A funeral service will be held at Colwyn Bay Crematorium on Tuesday 13th of January at 12.30pm.

Enfys is 4 today!!
Four years of working along side each other every day.
Four years of putting plans and lives on hold to ensure we are ready at the drop of a hat to support those who need us.
Four years of building our business and our team to be the beautiful thing it is today.
Four years of learning, changing, adapting and growing.
We wouldn't have it any other way!
(The annual office cake shot was hindered today by the snow, so lovely Ela made us a cake instead)
