Lovely sunny day. Do you find the sunlight affects your little ones vision. Our daughter struggles with the nystagmus going from dark shadows into the sunlight. She finds it very hard to adjust for a good while going from one to the other. Whats your experience?

Today is International Volunteer Day and we’d like to say thank you to our volunteer community who play a vital role in supporting our work.
Dawn Hopper lives in Antrim and finds her volunteering role extremely rewarding. Three years ago, Dawn was diagnosed with glaucoma and is now registered as severely sight impaired.
Dawn explains: “My volunteer journey started during the Covid-19 lockdown, not long after I was diagnosed with glaucoma. I had received support from RNIB through one-to-one counselling, the talk and support groups and taking part in the group peer support activities. I saw for myself the positive impact volunteering can have on the life of a person diagnosed with sight loss and I wanted to give back and be part of that for others. I just love when we get the opportunity to meet up with other RNIB volunteers. I really value that sense of community. Through volunteering, not only do I get to help others, but I know it helps me too with my own sight loss journey.”
