The winter flu and COVID-19 vaccination programmes will begin on 6 October 2025.

Vaccines provide the best defence against winter viruses.

People who are eligible for vaccination against flu or COVID-19 this year should make themselves aware of their own GP surgery’s or community pharmacist’s vaccination arrangements and work with them to get vaccinated.

🟦 Prevent Falls, Stay Safe! 🟦

To follow on from our recent First Contact Physiotherapist post, Matthew would like to promote the importance of Falls Prevention.

Falls can happen to anyone, but they can often be prevented and he encourages patients to be be proactive by assessing and avoiding risks.

You can make an appointment directly with Matthew for assessment or self refer to Trust services.

Matthew's appointments are available to book online via Patient Access service👨‍💻 or by ☎️ Reception.

Many community pharmacies have longer opening hours including weekends and holidays.

If you have an everyday health condition, you can use the Pharmacy First service to get advice and treatment.

This service has been extended to include:

🔴 Pharmacy First for Sore Throat
🔴 Pharmacy First for Shingles

✨First Contact Physiotherapist✨

We are very fortunate in Practice to have a First Contact Physiotherapist on our team.

Matthew Wallace, an experienced and specialist physiotherapist, assesses and manages problems such as back pain, joint pain, and soft tissue injuries. You can request an appointment directly with Matthew without a GP referral . Our GPs recommend this direct access to Matthew as he is the Specialist in the Practice to deal with musculoskeletal problems.

All First Contact Physiotherapists promote physical activity and encourage patients to watch the video in the post below. It may even inspire some of us to get up and move more !😍
