I feel quite strongly about road safety for children and having witnessed so many near misses I decided to do something about it.

I started back in 2022 and fast forward a few years after many emails, meetings and promises of updates I seem to be getting somewhere thanks to Surrey Council and our local Councillors and MP.

There is a survey online for you to have your say. You’ll see that frustratingly there isn’t enough money for zebra crossings but they propose to install larger traffic islands which is progress.

Please may you take a minute to comment on the survey with your thoughts. If you aren’t sure what to write, I think zebra crossings would be a much safer idea. My reason for this is because cars have driven over the traffic islands where families are waiting to cross as shown in the images above. Zebra crossings will ensure swifter crossings for families.

Thank you so much and please do share far and wide!

So grateful if you do!
Jules

Recently I was invited along to a Mindful Doodling session with my daughter and I had to share how amazing I thought it was.

is offering local workshops at The Elmbridge Community Eco Hub in Hersham in their amazing Studio.

The perfect solution to slowing down, reconnecting and doing something perhaps you’ve never done before.

You don’t need to be arty (I’m not) but I came away feeling so relaxed as Rebekah offers this inclusive, welcoming space to everyone both young and old. My daughter also throughly enjoyed being creative in the session and of course the chocolates on the table were a cute added bonus!

Check out and her website for the sessions which are listed at www.voy.design or comment ME below and I’ll send you the link directly.

Upcoming events are:
Sat 28th Feb 2:30-3:30 - Family Session
Sat 14th March 2:30-4 - Mindful Doodling with movement

A heads up that the emergency gas works has now closed the one way system in Walton on Thames.
The Hersham Road is now open to traffic on one side only if coming off the one way system and heading towards the halfway.

You now can’t drive around past the Citizens Advice Bureau to get to the B365 Ashley Road or Ashley School.
Traffic can come down the B365 towards Ashley School and town.

A bit of a nightmare for such a popular road!

The Walton Village ~ More than just a pub.

Conveniently located on the High Street in Walton on Thames and a key asset to our Community.

My family and I love it here. It’s dog friendly, it’s family friendly and the perfect venue for catching up with friends too. They have many mid week events including a weekly quiz, comedy nights, live vinyl sessions, plenty of sport plus a free cinema, free baby brunch and free table tennis! I bet you didn’t realise all of that!

Ned, Stan and the team always offer friendly welcoming service and the food is great too. Simple but sometimes just what you fancy. Plus mid week deals and a fab kids menu.

So if you haven’t visited I recommend you do! Might see you there!

Today, February 5th is Time to Talk Day, the Nation’s biggest Mental Health conversation.

It’s a day to pause, connect, and speak openly about how we’re really feeling.
Mental health problems are more common than many people realise. They can affect anyone, at any time. Talking honestly — even in small ways — can make a real difference to your wellbeing and help you feel less alone.

It’s normal to feel unsure about reaching out. Worries about cost, waiting lists, or whether your struggles are “serious enough” often stop people from starting a conversation.

But seeking support isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s actually a strength. Reaching out early can prevent challenges from becoming overwhelming. It gives you space to reflect, process, and gain clarity before difficulties escalate.

For adults looking for support, The Counselling Partnership, an Elmbridge-based charity, provides one-to-one counselling in a safe and welcoming environment.

Their Counsellors work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship challenges, bereavement, work-life pressures, or feeling overwhelmed.

Support is affordable and easily accessible. Find out more and self-refer yourself for support at:
