This lady is awesome
I just love the Nanas!
And all the grandparents, the aunts/uncles and broader community that care for your children, and are driven by understanding them and their needs under the new neuroscience, and the new cultural philosophies.
I canโt keep a count of how many grandparents have joined Brains = Behaviours, but itโs a lot.
When they join our community they introduce themselves with comments likeโฆ
* I want to understand the way my children parent so I can support them as best I can
* I want to understand my grandchildren for exactly who they are
* we didnโt have this kind of support available when my kids were little
* thereโs so much new stuff out there to learn โบ๏ธ
And without fail I receive messages every time B=B runs from Grandparents saying โI just wish Iโd known this when mine were littleโ ๐๐ป๐๐ป
Neuroscience has come a long way.
Parenting and teaching used to be firmly embedded in a behavioural based paradigm, a framework which is now entirely and without shadow of a doubt rejected by science.
And being amongst the first generation of parents/teachers to move away from behavioural based support is so hard!
Sometimes our elders donโt understand, it can be triggering for them and for us, there can be a disconnect between what we think is best.
Unlearning, letting go of preconditioned ideals and moving forward with new ways is always a brave step!
And so what could be more amazing than having grandparents learning alongside you and supporting your every move?!
You warm my heart ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
