Pumpkin carving is a great Halloween tradition. But if your child isn’t old enough to handle a sharp knife safely you can use pens, stickers, paint or glitter to decorate your pumpkin without making a scratch.

Just search for “no-carve pumpkin ideas” and you’ll find lots of creative ways to transform yours.
We’d love to see your pumpkin creations. Please share them with us.

Calling all budding young artists!

We’ve just launched our Christmas colouring competition, and we need your help to design our official Christmas card for 2025.

It’s open to all children up to the age of 11 years old across the North West, so whether you love colouring, doodling or creating festive masterpieces, this is your chance to shine.

The winning design will become our official Christmas card, sent far and wide, and shared with over 183,000 followers on our social media channels. Plus, the winner will bag a goody bag full of ambulance service treats.

Entries close on Friday 21 November, so get those crayons, pens and glitter out!

Children dressing up for Halloween can have one of our Kids Eat for £1 meal deals completely free in Asda Cafés nationwide on October 31.

The £1 meal deal will continue throughout the rest of the week, which is half term in much of the country. There's no minimum spend and no need for an accompanying adult meal. Dishes include chicken nuggets, fish fingers, penne pasta and pizza, and the cold Pick & Mix option, which includes a sandwich, drink, fruit and a sweet treat.

Jordan Cummings, Buying Manager, Cafes and Concessions at Asda, said: “Halloween should be about fun, not financial fright. With Halloween falling in half term this year, we’re proud to help families celebrate without breaking the bank - from free meals for kids in costume to great value across the store, including fun outfits from George.”

During times of war, dogs served alongside soldiers, carrying messages, detecting dangers, and providing comfort in the most challenging moments. This badge is not just a symbol of remembrance – it’s a tribute to their bravery and unwavering loyalty. Let’s honour their memory together.

Halloween is almost here. Have you decided what your little ones will dress up as yet? Whatever you choose please keep safety in mind.

Remember:
🎃 Halloween costumes can be highly flammable so stay well away from naked flames and other heat sources
🎃 Try to buy from a reputable store or website. Cheap costumes may not meet UK safety standards.
🎃 Look for a costume with a UKCA or CE mark and be aware that cheap costumes may carry fake safety labels.
🎃 Look for a label that says: “This garment has undergone additional safety testing for flammability”.
🎃 Masks are spooktacular but they can make it harder for children to see or hear traffic. So, consider using face paint for trick or treating and save the masks for indoors.
🎃 Help make children more visible to drivers by adding reflective tape to their costumes or accessorising with glow sticks.
