Mother’s Day really does hold many emotions.

For some it’s full of celebration and hugs.
For others it brings memories, longing, or quiet sadness for someone who should still be here.

Today feels extra special.

It’s my daughter’s first Mother’s Day, and watching her step into motherhood has been such a beautiful thing to witness. Holding my gorgeous granddaughter and realising I’m now both mam and grandmother fills my heart with so much gratitude.

I’m also thinking of my own mam today, thankful for the love, lessons, and care she’s given me, and for the generations of motherhood that connect us.

However today feels for you, I hope you’re gentle with yourself.

You know that feeling when you walk into a situation that used to make your heart race — a meeting, a conversation, even a simple plan — and you suddenly realise you feel… calm?

Your breath feels steady.
Your shoulders aren’t creeping up around your ears.
Your thoughts aren’t racing ahead to every possible outcome.

That’s what calm confidence feels like. It’s not loud or showy, and it’s definitely not about pretending to be okay. It’s quiet. It’s grounded. It’s a deep sense of I can handle this.

If you’re constantly on edge… this is for you.

Most of the women who come to me say things like:
“I feel anxious all the time for no clear reason.”
“My heart races out of nowhere.”
“I’m always waiting for something bad to happen.”
“I can’t relax, even when everything’s actually okay.”
“I’m exhausted from feeling like this every day.”

This is what changes when we work together:

“I’ll just live with it” isn’t always the answer.

This client had been living with hip pain for years after slipping on ice. Not constant pain, but just enough to be aware of it when walking, exercising, or getting on with her day.

So, she adapted. Like so many of us do. She worked around it, told herself it was manageable, and carried on. Until she decided she didn’t want to anymore.

She’s now no longer held back by that pain, and not just physically. It had been affecting her mood too, more than she realised at the time.

What she said afterwards really stayed with me…
“Just go with the process and have trust in it and yourself.”

You don’t have to push through forever and you don’t have to wait until things are unbearable to try something different.

We’ve all done it. Said the polite, tidy, socially acceptable line when the truth is… we’re one “Can you just…?” away from quietly combusting.

You know the ones:
“I’m fine.”
(Translation: I’m running on caffeine, grit, and pure festive chaos.)

“It’s ok, I’ll sort it.”
(Translation: I’ve just added yet another task to the list that apparently only I can see.)
