Today, I am shattered.

On Yom Kippur, a day of reflection and return, our sanctuary was pierced by terror. Two lives stolen. Four wounded. And countless hearts broken.

As a Jewish mother, and as someone who walks alongside families in their most tender moments, I feel this grief in my bones. I have always used this space to serve, to offer care, calm, and connection. I vow to keep it professional and free of politics. This is not political. This is personal.

Today, I need you! We all need you!

I need your presence, your prayers, your quiet solidarity. I will continue to show up with all my heart. But today, I ask you to hold me, as I have held you.

Am Yisrael Chai.

As I return after a long pause, my heart is heavy with sorrow.

The recent terror attack in Manchester has left me shaken. For those building lives filled with love and nurturing new life, such violence feels particularly senseless.

To expectant mothers and parents holding their little ones close, know that Serene Birth with Mathilde stands in solidarity with you. I also stand with the Jewish community, acknowledging their raw grief and fear.

My thoughts are with the family of the deceased and the four seriously injured. May they find comfort, healing, and strength in the coming days.

In times like these, community is crucial. Let’s show up for each other with kindness, courage, and care. If you need support or a listening ear, I’m here.

With love,
Mathilde

The birth worker community has suffered a significant loss with the passing of Michel Odent. I was privileged to attend one of his final doula training sessions earlier this summer. Though he will be greatly missed, his legacy will surely live on. My thoughts are with his family, and I offer them my deepest condolences. 🕊️💔
