Bringing "Joie de Vivre" to your Fourth Trimester.

Bringing a new baby home is a monumental transition. In those early weeks, having the right support isn't just a luxury, it is the bridge back to your own strength.

I am a postnatal doula based in Hendon (NW4), offering a blend of professional expertise and a calm, French-inspired approach to newborn care and maternal recovery.

My role is to provide the "scaffolding" you need so you can lead your family with confidence. Whether you are a first-time parent or adding to your brood, I am here to ensure the transition is smooth, supported, and empowering.

How my presence helps you:
• Support for Baby: Gentle, hands-on guidance with bathing, soothing, and feeding (breast, bottle, or mixed).
• Support for Mum: I create the space for you to rest, recover, and regain your "humanity" - whether that’s a long shower or a much-needed nap.
• Household Flow: I handle the "noise" - the laundry, the errands around the block, and preparing nourishing meals and snacks.
• Admin & Practicality: I can watch your baby while you catch up on those endless application forms or accompany you on your first walk to Hendon Park.

If you like to keep things under control, my goal is to give you the infrastructure to do just that. No judgement, just professional reassurance and a steady hand.

I have limited availability for Spring/Summer 2026 in Hendon and surrounding North West London areas. Click the link in my bio to book a discovery call or send me a DM to chat.

Support isn't just for one person. It’s for the whole unit. 🤝

I love hearing that my sessions help partners feel just as prepared and comfortable as the birthing person.

Invaluable support for an invaluable time in your lives.

Thank you for the 5 stars, Max! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The transition into parenthood is one of the most profound thresholds we ever cross. It is natural for old stories, fears, and "ghosts" to surface during this time.

Trauma resolution isn't about being a "perfect" parent. It's about clearing the internal noise so you can be a present one. Whether you are preparing to give birth and want to meet it with more ease, or you are navigating the vulnerable days of postpartum and looking for softness, you deserve to feel whole in your story.

This work is an investment in your well-being and a gift of generational care for your family.

Ready to find your steadiness?

I’ve shared a link to my inquiry form in my Stories right now. Tap my profile picture to find it, or head to the link below to share a bit about your journey and how I can hold space for you.

Your body isn’t something to be "managed". It’s a source of incredible wisdom. My mission is to provide the stable, warm presence you need to tap into that strength and birth with dignity. Which word from this quote resonates with you most today? ✨

I’ve been sitting with a heavy heart after reading about the tragic loss of baby Matilda Pomfret‑Thomas. No parent should ever have to endure such an unutterable and unnecessary loss. My thoughts are with this family as they face something no one should ever experience.

What adds another layer of sadness is seeing, once again, the narrative turn toward blaming the doula. A familiar pattern: a complex, tragic situation is reduced to a single villain, and the doula becomes the easiest target.

Yes ! there are individuals in our field who act outside their scope, who present themselves as medical authorities, or who let arrogance override safety. That is deeply concerning, and it misrepresents the vast majority of doulas who work with clarity, humility, and respect for both families and healthcare teams.
But there is so much more to this story than a “bad doula blocking care.”
We haven’t heard from the doula.
We haven’t heard the full context.
And most importantly, we haven’t heard the mother’s voice : her agency, her decisions, her understanding of the situation.

Doulas are non‑clinical companions.
We do not diagnose.
We do not make medical decisions.
We do not override midwives or doctors.
We support families with information, emotional steadiness, and advocacy rooted in their wishes, not ours.
And when emergencies arise, responsible doulas know exactly where the line is. We guide, we advise, we protect, we advocate, but never in a way that interferes with urgent clinical care.
This tragedy deserves compassion, accountability, and systemic learning, not scapegoating and sensationalism.

Doulas bring immense value to families:
✨ grounding and clarity in pregnancy
✨ continuous emotional support in labour
✨ nurturing, stabilising presence postnatally

We complement medical care.

We do not replace it.

And we certainly do not play games with human life!

My heart is with this grieving family.
My heart is also with the doulas who work ethically, collaboratively, and with deep respect for the sacredness of birth.

The hospital room doesn't get to decide your birth vibe. You do. ✋✨

Many parents fear that moving to a labour ward means losing their 'physiological bubble.' But physiology isn’t a location: it’s a state of being.

We don't just 'cope' with a change in plans; we adapt the environment to protect your oxytocin.

How we reclaimed this space:
☁️ No diffuser? Put essential oils on cotton balls and tuck them around the room.
📵 No speaker? Phone on 'Do Not Disturb' + Music ON. Stay in your bubble.
🌌 The lights? Dimmed & replaced with a galaxy glow.

Your body needs to feel safe to open. No matter the room, we create a sanctuary. 🕯️🤲

Today, I am shattered.

On Yom Kippur, a day of reflection and return, our sanctuary was pierced by terror. Two lives stolen. Four wounded. And countless hearts broken.

As a Jewish mother, and as someone who walks alongside families in their most tender moments, I feel this grief in my bones. I have always used this space to serve, to offer care, calm, and connection. I vow to keep it professional and free of politics. This is not political. This is personal.

Today, I need you! We all need you!

I need your presence, your prayers, your quiet solidarity. I will continue to show up with all my heart. But today, I ask you to hold me, as I have held you.

Am Yisrael Chai.

If this post resonates, please share it. If you feel moved, I welcome your words in the comments. Let’s hold each other close.

As I return after a long pause, my heart is heavy with sorrow.

The recent terror attack in Manchester has left me shaken. For those building lives filled with love and nurturing new life, such violence feels particularly senseless.

To expectant mothers and parents holding their little ones close, know that Serene Birth with Mathilde stands in solidarity with you. I also stand with the Jewish community, acknowledging their raw grief and fear.

My thoughts are with the family of the deceased and the four seriously injured. May they find comfort, healing, and strength in the coming days.

In times like these, community is crucial. Let’s show up for each other with kindness, courage, and care. If you need support or a listening ear, I’m here.

With love,
Mathilde

The birth worker community has suffered a significant loss with the passing of Michel Odent. I was privileged to attend one of his final doula training sessions earlier this summer. Though he will be greatly missed, his legacy will surely live on. My thoughts are with his family, and I offer them my deepest condolences. 🕊️💔
