🧻 Fundraising Friday!

You see loo roll… we see a much-needed centre resource.

Think about it. When you’ve rushed straight from work or school, what’s the first thing you often need? The toilet! 🚽
Now imagine rushing in… only to find no loo roll! 😱

This is why we need your support. No one wants to run out of loo roll!

Can you help make sure this never happens to us? Every little bit helps keep our centre stocked and everyone comfortable. 🧔
Our wishlist is available on our Linktree - link in our bio :)

3 Positive Steps to Better Health

1ļøāƒ£ Set realistic goals
Start small and be honest about what you can achieve. Progress isn’t always perfect, setbacks and failures are part of the journey, not the end of it.

2ļøāƒ£ Care for your mind as well as your body
Your mental and emotional health matter just as much as physical health. Nourish yourself with a balanced diet, regular exercise, and moments of rest and reflection.

3ļøāƒ£ Stay flexible
Life changes, and your goals can too. Adjust them to fit your lifestyle so they remain achievable, sustainable, and truly yours.

The need for our services is growing every day. During March, we delivered 711 face-to-face sessions, 81% of these provided are through our low-cost or commissioned services.

The demand for professional, affordable therapy continues to rise. Could you support our charity by organising a fundraising event or partnering with us through corporate funding?

If the answer is yes, we would love to hear from you. Please start a conversation with our CEO at ceo@rephaelhouse.org.uk

Challenge Yourself, Change Lives!

This year, I challenge YOU to challenge yourself.

We at Rephael House are in need of support, and while we know times are tough with rising living costs, here’s an idea: set a personal challenge AND raise funds at the same time.

Goal: Raise £300 (or more!)
Challenge: Push yourself out of your comfort zone.

Some ideas:

Walk 200 miles in May
Climb a mountain
Swim from England to Paris… safely in a pool

It’s not just about the money, it’s about discovering your strength, testing your limits, and making a real difference for people supported by Rephael House.

Ready to take on the challenge?
Let’s do this together.

Rephael House April 2026 Newsletter -

I have a very spirited two-year-old granddaughter who knows what she wants, and with those big blue eyes, she normally gets it… well, from me anyway! However, this week we were in the car and she wanted something I couldn’t give her, as I was driving. When I said no, she cried.

šŸ“šBook Recommendation
The Little Book of Dyslexia: Both sides of the classroom
šŸ“š Author: Joe Beech
https://ow.ly/9qE950Yz4nb
A book for teachers, carers, parents or anyone involved in Special Educational Needs (SEN), that shares Joe Beech's story but, more importantly, is full of practical ideas that can be used by students with dyslexia and by teachers teaching children with dyslexia and dyspraxia in the classroom. The Little Book of Dyslexia references both personal experience and current applied research and findings in order to highlight issues faced by people with dyslexia. It looks at a number of strategies and lesson ideas which can be used both inside and outside the classroom to help students with dyslexia and specific learning difficulties. It also lists various resources which can be used alongside these strategies to create a successful learning environment for those with dyslexia. The book progresses through the various challenges that are faced at different age ranges, and support needed, starting with the youngest in early years, including some of the early signs you may see with dyslexia, moving up through primary and secondary school and finally onto higher education and university and being a student teacher. An outstanding guide for students, teachers, Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs) and parents.

Grateful for the Impact We Make

We recently received some touching feedback from a client who had experienced a bereavement.
Their words reminded us why the work we do matters so deeply: providing support, compassion, and a listening ear during life’s most difficult moments.

Supporting someone through grief is never easy, but knowing that our efforts can bring even a little comfort makes it all worthwhile. 🧔

Thank you to our compassionate team, your empathy, and professionalism make moments like this possible every day.

When seeking mental and emotional health support, it’s essential that it works for YOU.

Here are three key considerations to help you decide where and who is right for you:

1ļøāƒ£ Qualifications and Experience – Make sure your provider has the right training and expertise for your needs.
2ļøāƒ£ Comfort and Connection – Feeling understood and supported is crucial for effective care.
3ļøāƒ£ Practical Factors – Consider cost, location, and availability to ensure consistent access.

Taking the time to reflect on these can make all the difference.

Hope this helps you make the right choice!

We were truly honoured to take part in the Finchley Charities celebration and to be part of such a wonderful occasion, marking 538 years of service to our community šŸ’›

We are incredibly grateful to have received a grant to support our domestic abuse services, helping both adults and children in our community. Your generosity is making a real and lasting difference.

It was also so lovely to learn more about the history of almshouses and the incredible legacy they represent.
