Ask your MP to raise the social media age to 16 – it takes just 60 seconds. This week, Keir Starmer said he’s considering an Australia-style age limit on social media, which means this issue is live in Parliament right now, and your voice can genuinely influence what happens next. Email your MP here: https://smartphonefreechildhood.eaction.org.uk/raise-the-age. Please forward this message and share it in school year groups, class chats, sports teams, and family groups. Anyone can take part, and every extra message increases the impact. This isn’t party-political – it’s about protecting children from addictive, algorithm-driven platforms and making it easier for families to hold the line together. Moments like this don’t come around often. Let’s make it count.

3 ways to regulate after sensory overload - This is for anyone as we can all feel over stimulated at points in the week or month.

1️⃣ Reduce input first
Step away from noise, dim the lights, silence notifications. Even 5 minutes of less stimulation helps your nervous system reset.

2️⃣ Ground through the body
Try slow breathing (inhale 4, exhale 6), press your feet into the floor, or hold something with weight or texture to bring yourself back into your body.

3️⃣ Offer gentle comfort
Wrap in a blanket, sip water or tea, listen to a familiar sound, or repeat a calming phrase like “I’m safe right now.”

Regulation isn’t about fixing it's about supporting your system until it feels safe again.

Overcoming Unwanted Intrusive Thoughts: A CBT-Based Guide to Getting Over Frightening, Obsessive, or Disturbing Thoughts
Author: Sally M. Winston PsyD, Martin N. Seif PhD
https://ow.ly/etFQ50XBHcV
You are not your thoughts! In this powerful book, two anxiety experts offer proven-effective cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) skills to help you get unstuck from disturbing thoughts, overcome the shame these thoughts can bring, and reduce your anxiety.

If you suffer from unwanted, intrusive, frightening, or even disturbing thoughts, you might worry about what these thoughts mean about you. Thoughts can seem like messages-are they trying to tell you something? But the truth is that they are just thoughts, and they don't necessarily mean anything. Sane and good people have them. If you are someone who is plagued by thoughts you don't want-thoughts that scare you, or thoughts you can't tell anyone-this book may change your life.

In this compassionate guide, you'll discover the different kinds of disturbing thoughts, myths that surround your thoughts, and how your brain has a tendency to get "stuck" in a cycle of unwanted rumination. You'll also learn why common techniques to get rid of these thoughts can backfire. And finally, you'll learn powerful cognitive behavioral skills to help you cope with and move beyond your thoughts, so you can focus on living the life you want. Your thoughts will still occur, but you will be better able to cope with them-without dread, guilt, or shame.

If you have unwanted thoughts, you should remember that you aren't alone. In fact, there are millions of people just like you-good people who have awful thoughts, gentle people with violent thoughts, and sane people with "crazy" thoughts. This book will show you how to move past your thoughts so you can reclaim your life!

The Future is Emotionally Intelligent
From two early childhood experts, an essential guidebook that empowers parents to help their little ones navigate their big feelings—including tantrums, outbursts, and separation anxiety—while laying the groundwork for a lifetime of emotional intelligence.
We’re in the midst of a parenting revolution that is radically changing the way we raise our kids. Gone are the days of minimizing emotions: Don’t Cry. You’re Fine. Don’t Make a Scene. As our understanding of developing brains has increased, today’s parents are looking for a new way to help their children understand their feelings and learn to process them.
Emotional development experts Alyssa Blask Campbell, M.Ed. and Lauren Stauble M.S. are at the forefront of a movement to foster little ones’ emotional intelligence. Their revolutionary Collaborative Emotion Processing (CEP) method has been a game changer for parents and educators, and now they are sharing it with readers in this indispensable guide.
Tiny Humans, Big Emotions provides the tools to tackle every sort of stressful child-rearing situation, including:
What to do when your child throws a tantrum (it's not what you think!)
Helpful scripts to handle any challenging moment like school refusal and bedtime resistance
How to react when your child hits, punches, or bites
Easy tips that help regulate your child’s nervous system
How to anticipate and end meltdowns before they even begin
Designed for all humans—tiny and big—this book shows caregivers of children how to handle their children’s outbursts while empowering them to recognize and manage difficult feelings like anger, sadness, and shame, along with anxiety. All caregivers will find valuable insights and guidance in this book, especially those caring for children from infancy to age eight. Tiny Humans, Big Emotions equips adults with tools for emotional intelligence so they can respond with intention.

A peer support session for global majority musicians
An online wellbeing and peer support programme for global majority musicians — a space to connect, create, and thrive 🌍✨

Facilitated by peer workers trained through Key Changes: Positive Mental Health Through Music, the sessions offer artistic empowerment and community connection for musicians with lived experience of mental health challenges 💛

Each session is a safe, creative space to explore identity, belonging, and wellbeing through open discussion, reflection, and shared music-making 🎤🎸🥁

We’re here to challenge systemic barriers like:
🚫 underrepresentation
🚫 stereotypes
🚫 economic inequality
🚫 lack of recognition — despite our foundational contributions to modern music.

💫 Together, we rise — creatively and collectively.

💪 Tuesday Challenge: Face Your Fear

Life can be scary, but unless we face our fears, we’ll never fully live the life we want.

Take one step outside your comfort zone today and see how it feels. Step into the unknown, knowing it might be hard, but you’re ready to face it.

This could be anything – applying for a new job, starting a conversation with someone, or simply going outside.

Whatever your fear is, face it. Notice what your body is telling you – don’t ignore the signals, but confront them.

And when you’ve done it? Celebrate yourself. 🎉
You’ve got this! 🧡
