It’s ! 🌟

This week, we celebrate those who lead with compassion, integrity, and expertise, helping charities like ours make a real difference to the lives of children and families.

In our latest article, meet two of our newest trustees, Professor Lorna Fraser and Ginika Achokwu, and discover why they joined our board. Plus, see how our own Fundraising and Communications Director, Philip Roethenbaugh, balances his leadership role while volunteering as a trustee at another charity. ❤️

Animal Adventures with Noah’s Ark! 🦎🐍

Things got wild when Furry and Scaly Friends came to visit! Our siblings group got up close and personal with a fantastic mix of furry and scaly friends, from fluffy bunnies to slithery snakes.

The children loved every second; holding, learning, and discovering how to care for the animals.

A huge thank you to Furry and Scaly Friends for inspiring so much confidence and curiosity at Noah’s Ark. You made the day truly unforgettable! ❤️

A Star to Remember is now live. 🌟

We invite you to dedicate a star on our virtual tribute wall in memory of someone special. Add a message, a photo, or a memory, and help us light up Christmas with love.

Your donation will help us continue to care for children who are seriously unwell and their families.

We were delighted to welcome Kate Osamor, MP for Edmonton and Winchmore Hill, to The Ark last week.

The sustainability of funding for children's hospices and ensuring early and equitable access to our support were just some of the topics that were discussed.

At Noah's Ark we welcome the opportunity to work with the government to ensure more families receive the vital support they need - thank you to Kate for spending the afternoon at The Ark. ❤️

"Every run reminded me why we do what we do. It’s about giving children moments of joy and experiences they might not otherwise have." ❤️

Our Volunteering Development Manager, Dan, smashed the Battersea Half Marathon this year, building on last year’s Royal Parks Half Marathon. His fundraising will help create even more special moments for the babies, children, and young people at Noah’s Ark.

A huge thank you to Dan and everyone who cheered him on! 🎉

Coming soon: A Star to Remember. 🌟

This Christmas, we’re creating a virtual tribute wall to remember those who have died, who we hold close in our hearts. A place to leave a heartfelt message, upload a favourite photo, or share a memory in their honour.

More details will be shared soon. ✨

Makaton at Noah’s Ark! 🙌👏👋

Our recent Makaton training was a fantastic success! The Care Team took part with incredible enthusiasm, learning a wide range of signs and symbols to help enhance communication and support.

For those unfamiliar, Makaton is a unique language programme that uses signs and symbols alongside speech to support understanding and expression, helping people of all ages and abilities communicate more effectively.

Ellie Butcher, Makaton Tutor, shared:
“It’s wonderful to see the dedication the Care Team has for learning Makaton. By embracing these new skills, even small changes can make a big difference in the support and care provided every day.”

A huge well done to everyone involved, we can’t wait to see your new Makaton skills in action!

Staff Spotlight ✨

From swimming laps and running miles to creating their own fundraising events, the Noah’s Ark team went above and beyond to support our From That Moment appeal.

And they got wonderfully creative!

Our talented team of music therapists hosted a Singing for the Soul workshop. People came together to learn harmonies, share the joy of singing, and raise vital funds for our families. Even better, every pound raised was matched, doubling the impact of their efforts!

We are so proud to have such a phenomenal, kind, and generous team. Thank you for all you do to make a difference every day. 🌟

Shaping the Future of Volunteering at Noah’s Ark ❤️

Over the past few months, we have partnered with University College London's Community Research Initiative to explore ways to make our volunteer community more representative of the children and families we support.

A talented group of student volunteers reviewed academic research and our own data, helping us identify opportunities for improvement and how to make volunteering at Noah’s Ark even more inclusive.

This collaboration with a university research volunteering initiative was our first, and it has been a huge success! Thank you to our UCL volunteers for their valuable insights, energy, and passion.

During Baby Loss Awareness Week, we took time at Noah’s Ark to quietly remember the babies who are no longer with us.

Families, visitors, staff, and volunteers were invited to tie a ribbon to our Memory Tree in The Ark’s atrium. Each ribbon, each name, represents a story, a love, and a memory that will always be cherished.

We are thankful to everyone who joined us in this moment of reflection and remembrance. 🩷💙
