This month’s Compass Be Online Safety Guide focuses on cyberbullying to mark Anti-Bullying Week (10th–14th November).

This year Compass Be have collaborated with the Hate Crime Awareness Team as Hate Crime Awareness and Anti-Bullying Week overlap naturally, with both weeks promoting kindness, respect, and safety for everyone.

Hate crimes can have profound and lasting effects on the mental health of young people, especially those who are directly targeted or those who witness these acts.

Young people don’t always tell adults when they’re experiencing bullying, so being aware of subtle changes in behaviour, mood, and social patterns is key.

Noticing changes early and offering calm, supportive conversations can help a child feel safe enough to open up about what’s happening.

This week, our Healthy Peer Relationship Service will be joining Barnsley Youth Council colleagues in secondary schools over lunch for Anti-bullying week! Come and see us, add to the kindness chain and take away some of our Compass Be support resources 🩵

This week is anti bullying and we will be in schools promoting the power of good. Come and add to a comment to our kindness chain today at Dearne Academy where we will be joined by Compass Be and Barnsley College 6th form and Fleets.

Our friendly team will be on hand to guide parents and guardians through the process.

Remember if you live in Barnsley (with a Barnsley postcode) your membership is FREE!, if you live outside Barnsley it's just £5 per year.

We'll see you on Saturday from 11am at Base 71 Youth Zone, Schwabisch Gmund Way, Barnsley.
