Water Royd Water Royd Care Home specialises in Residential, Residential Dementia and Nursing care. The home has easy access to the M1.

Water Royd House is located in Gilroyd, a small village near to Barnsley town centre. Local shops, library, hairdressers, surgery, pharmacy, public house and post office are all closeby. Water Royd House provides accommodation for residents in single rooms with en-suite facilities. All rooms are fully carpeted and decorated to a high standard. Each room contains a television, nurse call system, fire detection, bed, and chest of drawers. The home has a well maintained garden and a secluded patio for residents to enjoy in summer months. Parking is available for up to 20 cars.

Water Royd bonfire night 2025 🎆

Fantastic turnout yesterday at our annual firework display, thank you to everyone who came along, family, friends and our community! Pie and peas went down a treat, as did the drinks 🍻

Thank you to everyone who made a donation, this has now gone towards our resident fund 🤗 The wonderful Billy Blaze entertained the lovely people living with us in the afternoon and sang some great hits form over the decades. Thanks Billy, looking forward to your return 🕺 🎤

What a brilliant Halloween party we had on Friday.

We started our morning off with some Halloween games, sang and danced to some spooktacular songs and enjoyed a Halloween quiz - well done to Barry for winning the quiz!

Our fabulous Lifestyle Co-ordinator Zoe, got everyone laughing by volunteering to getting very wet by playing the sponge splash game. Those living with us had the best time throwing sponges at Zoe and squirting her with the water pistols, Barry said "that was brilliant fun can we do this every Friday?" 😂 Bessies Granddaughter Jade, painted us a fabulous Halloween scene, thank you Jade it's amazing.

In the afternoon we had the fantastic singer Stevie Ross in, enjoyed some wine and beers, and had great fun singing and dancing. It was lovely to see family members coming along too and joining in the fun 🎃👻

Lovely fun morning at our weekly stay & play session last Thursday. The people living at Water Royd really look forward to seeing all the wonderful children and parents. Older children are also welcome to come along in the school holidays.

Don't miss our Stay and Play session tomorrow morning 30/10/25 beween 9:30-11 am!

Those living with us here at Water Royd love seeing the children playing, and our sessions are completely free, with refreshments available!

It's a great way of meeting other parents/carers, children and the wonderful people living with us.

Such a lovely day we had on Wednesday celebrating Harvest Festival 🍂

Thank you to everyone for their kind donations, we will be donating to 'Action for Barnsley Homeless Charity' which is a self-funded charity and will really benefit from your generosity.

Special thank you to Jennifer for her kind donation to our resident fund, we are very grateful, so a big thank you from everyone living at Water Royd.

Amanda was amazing as always and made our day extra special, as did Bessies family and her great granddaughter, she showed us some great dance moves, everyone loved her!

Did you know we have recently started our Stay & Play sessions back up every Thursday morning 9:30-11am?

The people living at Water Royd love seeing the children playing, it can be uplifting, lead to more smiles and conversation, boosts happiness and overall wellbeing.

Our stay and play sessions are completely free, with refreshments available, and is a great way of meeting other parents/carers, children and the wonderful people living with us.

We look forward to seeing you all next Thursday 💙

Susan's mum, Joan, lived at Water Royd, as did her father, Stuart, for many years, it was a pleasure to care for both wonderful people.

We had an amazing trip out on Monday as we visited Locke park with Myley Tours and had a fantastic stroll around Locke park gardens for More...Fresh Air!

We collected conkers, acorns and autumn leaves for our More...Creativity craft sessions we had planned later in the week. The sun came out and we enjoyed a cup of tea and a delicious cake at Locke park cafe. Kath and David really enjoyed their trip out and gave amazing feedback, stating they would like to go again.

Our Macmillan Coffee Morning went down a treat!

Everyone had an amazing morning as we enjoyed a nice cup of hot tea or coffee and a delicious sweet treat, while spreading awareness. Family and community members attended and joined in on the fun. It was such an amazing morning, and thank you all for attending.
