The Christmas period threw our family into a bit of turmoil, when a family member became very unwell. Fortunately, things have improved and we are very grateful π that our little family stayed intact. As you do, you just get on with things, until reality comes along and pulls the rug from under you. This can be hours, days, weeks, months or even years later. Well, mine happened yesterday, I felt so overwhelmed and out of control. You know the feeling, you berate yourself for not be able to cope, to brush it off, speak to yourself in derogatory ways and desperately hold back the tears. Luckily for me, I was at work and a beautiful person, gave it to me straight. She bolted me back to earth with a kindness that was gratefully received. Sometimes we need to remove the inner harsh voice/critic and gently ask ourselves......what would I advise a friend? We'd speak kindly to them, tell them to take time and look after themselves and that it's alright to cry and let it out. So today, make time and do something that makes you happy. It doesn't have to be a grand gesture, it could be a bubble bath, watching your favorite comedian, reading a few pages of a book or going for a little walk. You deserve it, you are worth it. π
