Creative Recovery People are at the heart of what we do. We use a person-centred approach to create safe spaces, where people can flourish.

Creative Recovery is a people-led charity that uses creativity to support recovery, boost wellbeing and bring about social change in Barnsley.We work with individuals and families with experience of mental health and/or drug and alcohol issues. Creative Recovery is a small grassroots charity, driven by a community of people with lived experience of using creativity to support their own health and

wellbeing and to make positive change. We draw on a collective of artists and practitioners with broad and extensive experience of working across arts/culture/health and wellbeing. We are also keen collaborators, and enjoy working with partners that share our values, passion and who aren't afraid to try something new.

This goes out to Barnsley creatives and folk working in creative health. Creative Recovery has pulled together these 2 programmes that aim to grow the skills, confidence and support networks of the Creative Health workforce in Barnsley.

We recognise that freelance working is tough. Its easy to feel like you’re on your own. If you’re trying to develop your practise independantly you don’t always have access to the resources you need. Perhaps you have dilemmas you want to share with people who understand where you’re coming from. Maybe you’re starting out and wanting to grow your network?

The ‘Nurture Programme’ does what it says on the tin. Time out to reflect and recharge with fellow practitioners. Please note 2 events require pre-booking. Various venues.

The Support Programme links with Barnsley Civic ‘Creative Socials’. These sessions are all about providing info and space to network and grow your practise.

This programme has been developed with support and funding through and Barnsley Council Public Health

A glorious Green UPLIFT walking amongst the ancient, veteran and notable trees of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park
