Teenage Cancer Trust Wrapped 2025 ✨

We've done a lot this year, with the help of our incredible supporters, ambassadors, colleagues and the young people we support. Here are just some of the highlights ⬇️

In 2025, our nurses and youth workers didn’t just provide the best clinical care, but also support with the impact of cancer on young people’s emotions, studies, work and relationships.

19,435 1:1 support sessions with young people with cancer.

AND

6,819 1:1 support sessions with families of young people with cancer.

Our frontline staff also made* 1,399 referrals to connect young people to support services, providing everything from counselling and fertility treatment to education and careers advice.

*This data accounts for November 2024 – October 2025.

465 amazing volunteers gave their time to Teenage Cancer Trust 🙋‍♀️

34 new members joined our Youth Advisory Group 🗣

You helped us raise over £2m through our annual shows ✨

So far this year, young people’s stories, expert advice, and our vital work have been viewed over 140 million times across social media! And we couldn’t have done any of this without you.

In 2026, we hope you’ll continue to support our work so that we can be there for every young person who needs us.💙

🎃 Samhain: The Ancient Origin of Halloween ✨

I love the celtic history so I thought today is ideal for sharing this with you....

Before there was Halloween, there was Samhain (pronounced “sow-in”) an ancient Celtic festival marking the end of harvest and the beginning of winter’s darkness.

The Celts believed this was when the veil between worlds grew thin, a night when spirits and ancestors could walk among the living.
To protect themselves, people lit bonfires, wore costumes and masks, and left offerings of food for wandering souls.

When Christianity spread, All Hallows’ Day (Nov 1) merged with these traditions and All Hallows’ Eve eventually became Halloween. 🎃

Today, many still honour Samhain as a spiritual new year, a time to reflect, release, and honour those who came before us.

In traditional Celtic culture, this was a time to pause, slow down, and align with nature’s rhythm. That same principle applies beautifully to women’s health, particularly our menstrual cycle, which mirrors the seasonal changes of the Earth.

During the menstrual (or inner winter) phase, our bodies naturally call for rest, nourishment, and emotional grounding. It’s the ideal time for gentle self-care and restorative therapies that support hormonal balance and energy flow.

🎃 So when you carve a pumpkin or dress up this Halloween, remember that you’re part of a 2,000-year-old tradition celebrating the balance between life, death, and renewal.
