A controversial post...

Every year after Xmas I get messages along the lines of...

"I got this for Xmas but they aren't very sharp, could you please sharpen them"

Every time I have to say the same thing... Yes I can... But it won't last.

These styles of knives are renowned in the knife world for being very poor quality and should be avoided.

Of course there are exceptions to the rule, Damascus knives cost HUNDREDS. If it's cheap then more than likely it's fake.

As always if you are thinking of getting someone some high quality kitchenware, I am always available for advice. Free of charge.

I bought a few second hand knives off Facebook that were bent with the intention of learning how to fix bends properly and if I was successful in that, making them better than brand new and selling them on for no profit.

So this weekend I plan on making a tool to help me with this and showing you my progress!

Lately iv been asked to do a few things that I can't due to not having the equipment yet.

This is just a post to show you some of the things I can't do yet. BUT if there gets to be enough demand for them then I will happily invest in the equipment.

Just a quick PSA to say...

Damascus steel is purely cosmetic. It is not sharper or more durable than mono steel in any way but it is a LOT more expensive.

As always I am here for advice if you are wanting to purchase high quality knives and tools.
