What happens when a room full of women pause long enough to reconnect with their voice?
Yesterday, I had the privilege of facilitating a therapeutic empowerment workshop with a wonderful group of women at Cwmparc Community Centre.
Together we explored the quiet forces that shape our internal voice, roles we play, identities we evolve and self belief systems that play into our attachment styles.
Importantly, we noticed where our voice felt small, silent or stopped. Where it felt compromised. And we discussed ways we could show ourselves compassion, courage and acceptance.
During the session we explored nervous system grounding, somatic awareness, parts work, tools for interrupting rumination and self-criticism, communication techniques for navigating conflict, empowerment breathwork and voice activation practices.
The space allowed people to slow down, notice what was happening internally and reconnect with their voice in a way that felt authentic.
Many left feeling a little more grounded in their body, clearer in their voice and more connected to the women around them.
I’m always grateful for opportunities like this to share work that I’m not only professionally trained in, but have also walked through personally. That lived understanding shapes the way I hold these spaces.
I regularly facilitate therapeutic wellbeing workshops for community groups and organisations across South Wales, each one tailored to the needs of the people in the room.
If you’re part of a community group, organisation, workplace or wellbeing programme and feel your group could benefit from a workshop like this, I’d love to explore what might best support your community.
