Care isn’t just about completing tasks, it’s about building trust, offering comfort, and supporting people to live with dignity and independence. 💙

Each day, dedicated carers bring compassion, professionalism, and respect to the work they do. Their approach is simple yet powerful: listen carefully, communicate clearly, and provide support that is personal and tailored to individual needs.

Whether helping with daily routines or offering reassurance during challenging times, carers go above and beyond to make a meaningful difference.

This is what great care looks like: kindness, reliability, and a genuine commitment to improving lives.

Today, we pause to remember the bravery, sacrifice and resilience of those who served during wartime.

We pay our respects to their legacy and reflect on the impact they’ve had on generations to come.

For many of our customers, Armistice Day holds personal meaning - memories of loved ones, stories passed down, or reflections from their own lives.

At Caremark, we’re always here to listen, to cherish your stories, and to help keep your memories alive. 💙

Recovering from a knee replacement takes time, care, and consistency 💙

Here are a few key tips to support healing and regain mobility:
💊 Pain management - Use medication, ice packs, and leg elevation to reduce swelling and stay comfortable
🧼 Wound care - Keep the area clean and dry, and watch for signs of infection
🏃‍♂️ Physical therapy - Start early and stay consistent to build strength and flexibility
⚖️ Lifestyle changes - Maintain a healthy weight and choose low-impact activities like swimming or cycling
📅 Follow-up appointments - Regular check-ins with your doctor help track progress and adjust your care plan

At 9:13 on the morning of October 21, 1966, this clock stopped ticking. It had been a normal October morning for the small mining village of Aberfan, where it had been raining for what seemed like forever. But something devastating had happened that would change the lives of its people forever.

That morning, a waste tip from a nearby colliery slid down the mountainside into the village. It engulfed Pantglas Junior School and 19 houses. Teachers did what they could to try to protect their students, but they couldn't fight the immediate force of the slurry.

In the aftermath, locals desperately dug through the rubble in the hope of finding survivors. When they thought they had found someone, a whistle would be blown. Sometimes it was nothing, sometimes someone who would live to tell of their trauma, but often it was someone who had passed away.

Bodies were carried into a makeshift mortuary, where loved ones lifted blankets to see children's faces, identifying their own.

144 people were killed. 116 of them were children.

Today, we remember them. We honour the people who tried to save them. And we think of those left behind, living with the scars of what they have seen and who they have lost.
